Below are the lyrics to a song that was banned by PBS (www@pbs.org) - (too pro-American I guess).
Charlie Daniels' letter to PBS follows:

The Last Fallen Hero

The cowards came by morning, And attacked without a warning
Leaving death and flames and chaos in our streets, And in the middle of this fiery hell
Brave heroes fell

In the skies of Pennsylvania, On a plane bound for destruction
With the devil and his angels at the wheel. They never reached their target on the ground
Brave heroes brought it down

CHORUS
This is a righteous cause, So without doubt or pause
I will do what my country asks of me, Make any sacrifice
We'll pay whatever price, So the children of tomorrow can be free
Lead on red, white and blue, And we will follow you
Until we win the final victory, God help us do our best
We will not slack nor rest, Till the last fallen hero rests in peace

Oh the winds of war are blowing, And there's no way of knowing
Where this bloody path we're traveling will lead,But we must follow to the end
Or face it all again

Make no mistake about it, write it, sing it, talk it, shout it
Across the mountains and the deserts and the seas,The blood of innocence and shame
Will not be shed in vain

REPEAT CHORUS

Please visit my website where I am giving away the Statue of Liberty Anthem: "The Most Beautiful Lady in the World." I hope you like the music. The website address is: www.statueoflibertyanthem.com

Lady Liberty is waiting for her own official anthem an this has been introduced in the US Congress as H.R. 2776 in the 101st US Congress. I need your help to inform the American public about this issue. My brother Paul and I have been working on this project since 1985. I wrote the music and he wrote the lyrics. Thank you.

Very truly yours,

This has been kept alive and moving since 9/11.
In memory of all those who perished this morning; the passengers and the pilots on the United Air and AA
flights, The workers in the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and all the innocent bystanders. Our
prayers go out to the friends and families of the deceased

IF I KNEW

If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you fall asleep, I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time that I see you walk out the door, I would give you a hug and kiss and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise, I would video tape each action and word,so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time, I could spare an extra minute to stop and say "I love you," instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.

If I knew it would be the last time I would be there to share your day, well I'm sure you'll have so many more, so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow to make up for an oversight, and we always get a second chance to make everything just right.

There will always be another day to say "I love you," And certainly there's another chance to say our "Anything I can do?"

But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get, I'd like to say how much I love you and I hope we never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike, And today may be the last chance you get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today? For if tomorrow never comes, you will surely regret the day,

That you didn't take that extra time for a smile, a hug, or a kiss and you were too busy to grant someone, what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today, and whisper in their ear, Tell them how much you love them and that you'll always hold them dear

Take time to say "I'm sorry," "Please forgive me," Thank you," Or "It's okay." And if tomorrow never comes, you will have no regrets about today.

DONALD H. RUMSFELD'S PRAYER

[Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld's prayer opening the Cabinet meeting at the White House after the September 11th attacks:]

Ever faithful God, in death we are reminded of the precious birthrights of life and liberty you endowed in your American people. You have shown once again that these gifts must never be taken for granted.

We pledge to those whom you have called home, and ask of you -- Patience, to measure our lust for action; Resolve, to strengthen our obligation to lead; Wisdom, to illuminate our pursuit of justice, and; Strength, in defense of liberty.

We seek your special blessing today for those who stand as sword and shield, protecting the many from the tyranny of the few. Our enduring prayer is that you shall always guide our labors and that our battles shall always be just.

We pray this day, Heavenly Father, the prayer our nation learned at another time of righteous struggle and noble cause -- America's enduring prayer: Not that God will be on our side, but always, O Lord, that America will be on your side. Amen.

[B2K] "It was The Night Before Ramadan" by Mullah Omar

Here is some beautiful poem. Author is unknown. Enjoy it everyone!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of You!!!

Jerzy Janulewicz

"It was The Night Before Ramadan" by Mullah Mohammed Omar

It was the night before Ramadan, and all through the cave, Not a creature was stirring; it felt like a grave.
The turbans were hung by the firepit with care, In hopes that the Air Force wouldn't soon be here.
The soldiers were restless without any beds, While visions of air strikes flashed in their heads.
Osama in his burka and I in my goatskin cap, Had just settled down for a cold, barren winter nap,
When out on the ledge there arose such a clatter, Away from the racket I run like a girl,
Tripped over a goat; into a ball I did curl.

The moon shone down on the new fallen snow, And lit up the valley with an ominous glow,
When, what to my one good eye should appear, But a dozen Apaches, and tanks in the rear,
And their leader, so fearless, his troops he did push, I knew in an instant-it must be George Bush.
More rapid than eagles- his forces, then came, And they whistled, and shouted, and called out our names:"Now Omar! Osama! Muhammad! Abdul! We come for you now; we have taken Kabul!

To the top of the cliffs! To the back of your caves! When you've chosen this war-you dug out your own graves!" As the dry leaves that before the assault, choppers flew,
When they met with an obstacle-the light went up to the sky, So up to the ledge, his forces, they flew,

With full magazines and flame throwers, too. And then, in a twinkling, I heard with a thud
The explosions of Tomahawks; not one was a dud.
As I chambered my rifle, and was turning around, Osama was there, disguised in a gown.
He was dressed all in drag, from his head to his toes, And he said he would flee, while I held off his foes;
A bundle of money he had stuffed in his pack,He said-"I am going to Baghdad and I am not looking back!"
His eyes were all glassy; he trembled with fear; The American bombs-they rang in his ears.
He saddled his goat, then turned tail and fled,
But a Marine Corps sniper got him right in the head. I watched with cold fear as his body did slump;
The goat threw him off- he fell with a thump. And so, there I stood- my plans all destroyed,
About to suffer my fate I couldn't avoid.
I dropped to my knees; asked Allah for help, His voice boomed in my ears-"You ignorant whelp!
I gave you the Bible, the Torah and Koran,But you were too arrogant to understand,
I told you to honor your neighbors and wives; Not to enslave them, or degrade their lives!
You invoke My name to sanction your deeds,But you are the last thing that this world will ever need.
And so, I'll send you and Bin Laden to Hell."The last words I heard, as the bombs still fell,
Were from George W. Bush as he mounted the wall, "One nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all!"

A Poem for America to stand strong "Invictus" one and all, pray for those lost and pray for those who are about to be lost. They want to awake "The sleeping Giant"? Then let them feel the Wrath....

OUT of the night that covers me, Black as the Pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be, For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance, I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance, My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears, Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.

By William Ernest Henley. 18491903

May God light your way and show you through the darkness

THE GIANT SLEEPS NO MORE

Where are all the liberals, who sang lullabies at the feet-- Of the great and mighty Giant, until he fell asleep?

Where are all the bleeding hearts that whispered in his ear -- And disarmed the brave, strong Giant by taking away his fear?

Where are they that confused the Giant by blowing smoke into his eyes-- Who suppressed the Giant's common sense and replaced it with their lies.

Where are all the traitors who, once he was asleep, Invited in the wolves and cried, "they are only sheep?"

Wherever they are, the infidels' let them hide for their own sake, American can take no more, now the Giant is awake.

So let the snakes bide their time as they lie in the grass and wait, For America to forget again and again to seal her fate.

When I came home from work on September 11th, my daughter had written a poemabout the terror in New York City. I just thought I would share it with you. Thank You.

Loss

You didn't know I'd be leaving you this morning, but neither did I.
I kissed your lips and rushed out the door, not knowing today was
the day I would die.

You learned that I was gone within hours of our last kiss,
The first thing you said was "I can't live like this"
So many words that were left unsaid, So please tell little Johnny that mommy isn't dead.

Tell him where I am and that he'll see me someday.

You'll have to tell Susie that mommy won't be coming home to play today. Kiss them for me, and hold them so tight,Please tell them mommy's ok, everything is alright.

Sing them my song as you tuck them in bed, Read them the storybook that I left unread.

Leave their door open so they can see the night light,Tell them mommy will visit them in their dreams tonight.

Please dear don't you cry over me, I'll see you in your dreams, close your eyes and you'll see. I'll kiss you and tell you all the things that I miss,How I want to be there with you which is my only wish.

But I am in Heaven now, enduring no pain,With most of the others who rode on that plane.

There are many others here who died in the collapse of a Building They want me to tell you, your resolve should be unyielding I understand that there is a very, very, high death toll. To those who committed this evil, you can destroy the body, but you cannot destroy the soul!

There is One here that knows and sees all things and He has something to say,

He wants everyone to know, without a doubt, "God will bless the U.S.A."
So pray for the families who cannot cope, Send them the message that there is still hope.

Although I am gone remember my life,A mother, a daughter, but most importantly you're loving wife.

The Binch!

Every U down in Uville liked U.S. a lot, But the Binch, who lived Far East of Uville, did not. The Binch hated U.S! the whole U.S. way! Now don't ask me why, for nobody can say, It could be his turban was screwed on too tight. Or the sun from the desert had beaten too bright. But I think that the most likely reason of all, May have been that his heart was two sizes too small.

But, Whatever the reason, his heart or his turban, He stood facing Uville, the part that was urban. "They're doing their business," he snarled from his perch, "They're raising their families! They're going to church! They're leading the world, and their empire is thriving, I MUST keep the S's and U's from surviving!"

Tomorrow, he knew, all the U's and the S's, Would put on their pants and their shirts and their dresses, They'd go to their offices, playgrounds and schools, And abide by their U and S values and rules,

And then they'd do something he liked least of all, Every U down in U-ville, the tall and the small, Would stand all united, each U and each S, And they'd sing Uville's anthem, "God bless us! God bless!" All around their Twin Towers of Uville, they'd stand, And their voices would drown every sound in the land. "I must stop that singing," Binch said with a smirk, And he had an idea--an idea that might work!

So the Binch stole some U-planes in U morning hours, And crashed them right into the Uville Twin Towers. "They'll wake to disaster!" he snickered, so sour, "And how can they sing when there is no more tower?" The Binch cocked his ear as they woke from their sleeping, All set to enjoy their U-wailing and S-weeping,

Instead he heard something that started quite low, And it built up quite slow, but it started to grow-- And the Binch heard the most unpredictable thing... He just couldn't believe it--the U's started to sing! He stared down at U-ville, not trusting his eyes, And the sight that he saw was a shocking surprise! Every U down in U-ville, the tall and the small, Was singing! Without any towers at all!

He HADN'T stopped U-Ville from singing! It sung! For down deep in the hearts of the old and the young, Those Twin Towers were standing, called Hope and called Pride, And you can't smash the towers we hold deep inside.

So we circle the sites where our heroes did fall, With a hand in each hand of the tall and the small, And we mourn for our losses while knowing we'll cope, For we still have inside us U-Pride and U-Hope.

For U-ville means much more than just a tall tower, It means more than wealth or political powers, It's more than our enemies ever could guess, So may God bless us in U-ville! Bless us! God bless!

I listened yesterday with a mixture of humor, anger, frustration, and sadness to your conversation with the man who called in to announce that he and his group were "declaring peace" in the light of our government's announcement of possible military strikes against terrorists. Part of me is incredulous that this could be starting already, while we are still raw from the wounds of last week. Part of me was already braced for this expression of sentiment. I would like to make some points based on my reaction to that call.

1) His statements reminded me a lot of the Vietnam era slogan, "What if there was a war and nobody came." What a nice idea. However, I've never known of a war that actually worked that way. The ones I've read about started with an aggressor. If the other side showed up, the aggressor either retreated, or stayed to fight. If the other side didn't show up, the aggressor kept coming until he had taken everything he wanted. That's why they are called aggressors. They have one of 2 objectives: They either want what the other side has, and if they meet no resistance, they will take it; or, they don't want the other side to have the privileges and prosperity the other side has always enjoyed, so the aggressor attempts to destroy them.

For a long time now, Americans have bought into the idea that if we're just nice enough to someone, they will suddenly become nice too. We have done our best to rationalize every evil act as the consequence of someone not being nice to the perspetrator at some point in his life. We have decided that, in the event that someone is mean to us, even if we have been nice, we should figure out what we did to make that person be mean to us, because it must be our fault. By all means, We should NEVER do anything that might make them be mean to us again.

No matter how many times we're bitten, there is always someone out there trying to reform rattle snakes. Be nice to the rattle snake; it will turn into a teddy bear. Right. A rattlesnakes will always be a rattlesnake. You either keep it out of your vicinity, or you take measures to keep it from biting you. You can't show it enough love to change its nature. Ted Bundy commits mass murder and someone blames it on his terrible childhood. It was someone else's fault. Terrorists attempt to destroy our country. It's because the United States was mean to them in the past; we need to be nicer. We blame it on the terrorists' poverty. How poor is Osama Bin Laden? He inherited hundred of millions of dollars, which he has used to finance terror. I don't feel sorry for him.

The truth remains that there are countless people who had truly miserable childhoods who managed to grow up and not kill anyone. Likewise, there are millions of people in this world who are impoverished and have not hijacked airplanes and run them through the World Trade Center and Pentagon. The first murder that I know of as being documented occurred in the Old Testament. Cain murdered Abel, and it wasn't because Cain was impoverished, or because Abel was directing air strikes at him. It was because Cain was jealous of Abel, and in his bitterness, he committed murder. It was a character flaw in Cain's personality that caused him to disregard human life. It is the same with criminals and terrorists.

2) To piggyback on this a little, the man's reasoning was out of whack anyway. From the advice I've read regarding how to deal with attackers and personal self-defense, the experts are now saying that the best thing you can do during an attack is to fight back, even to your own death. If you give in, or do nothing, you're probably going to die anyway. I think the same principal applies.

3) Pit bull dogs are bred to be killers. Anyone will tell you that, once a pit bull dog gets that killer instinct, it's virtually impossible to get it out of them. The only way to protect society from that killer is to put the dog away. When we see pictures of Palestinian children cheering on TV in celebration over this terrorist attack, we can see that many people have been carefully conditioned over time to hate us. They are the pit bull dogs of our world. No matter what we do, it will be difficult to change that conditioning. Meanwhile, we had better protect our society.

4) For peace overtures to have any effect, it would seem to me that you would have to be making them toward those who value peace. Anyone who would hijack 4 civilian aircraft, assault and murder passengers, and fly those planes into buildings holding more than 50,000 people in a country that has made no attack on them, is not interested in and does not value "peace." Peace-loving people refrain from acts such as these.

5) Finally, I am the wife of an Army officer, and I can tell him (you already know) that if you want to find real advocates for peace, go to a military installation. This is where you find the men and women who have the most to lose anytime the military is called into action. The general public doesn't realize how much these men and women risk on a daily basis, just to train to be ready for the call. I just got my husband back from 6 months in Kosovo where he was sent to "keep the peace" in the middle of Kosovo's own brand of terrorists who from time to time respected peace so much that they lobbed bottle rockets and grenades at their own people, and at our military! Don't talk to me about "declaring peace." However, if this country is serious about declaring war, I pray that we will declare it totally and that our society will stay behind it. My husband loves this country enough that he is willing to pay the ultimate price so that our children don't eventually have to. It terrifies me, but I think I can support him in this if the rest of the country does. However, I don't want to see him risking everything to protect "peace declarers" who will likely be headed off to Canada anyway if and when things get tough.

Thank you, Rush, so much for speaking truth to this guy. I don't always agree with everything you say, but I admire the fact that you'll say the hard things when no one else will.

God bless,
Jud

Democracy

It is a tragic thing that Islam is so threaten by American freedom. You don't see Amish condemning the atheistic behaviors of Americans or trying to over throw the government. The threat of Israel among Arab lands should be tolerated but there are those who feel so threaten. Those who feel they must send a message to those who would support Israel and it's right to a free nation. If Israel did not exist, where would their right to worship be rooted? Islam does not want Israel to exist any where let alone in their backyard.

This act of aggression on America, is to say America, you are the devil. Your demonic behavior will not be tolerated and your days are numbered. It is time for you to see the wrongs of your past deeds. We those who live in a purity, without sin, before the eyes of the God of Abraham, claim you, the sinners of the world. That you the sinners will be punished. We the followers of Islam, will die for our beliefs, in order to bring the word of God, to those who live in sin.

The idea that anyone can change the ideas of fanatic Islamic groups is to say Islam can change the ideas of Democracy. This day is before us now and there is no easy answer. The freedoms of our liberty is being challenged and so are the ideas of Islam. Today, tomorrow and all the days before us are about solving this dilemma. Islam sees Democracy as a threat to their beliefs and their beliefs are a threat to Democracy. We as a country have become self centered, for our freedom has allowed us to grow so strong. We have the luxury to be like Kings and Queens in our own little private world. The effort of so many, working hard everyday to have the THINGS that make our everyday lives so full, is now in question. Will we be able to keep our fantasy alive or will this house of cards fall down upon us all? Are we as a Nation able to come together and be willing to suffer what it will take to keep Democracy alive?

Our economy has slowed down so as to be able to smell the roses but do we? Can we even take the chance to stop for we may not be able to get the economy back running in full gear? It is not like one or two of us have stopped to enjoy a moment of time but the whole country is about to come to a stop. Are we ready to not panic but to keep our lives on track and do what is best for all of us? To not worry about how all of this is going to take down my life but what can I do to keep the gears of our economy going. To see that stocks are nothing more than the price someone was willing to sell or buy, not what it would be worth to me if I sold today. To realize I have invested into this system of Democracy and I am not ready to sell out for my own little Kingdom.

Our Leaders have made many enemies throughout time. We have upset the world for the benefit of ourselves. Our desires and needs have been satisfied on the backs of other nations. We now need to learn how to stand on our own two feet without interfering in the affairs of other countries. It is time to show the truth of Democracy by truly being independent. To make the sacrifices from foreign dependence. We as a nation must be willing to truly believe in what democracy stands for. Our leaders need to offer us a new way of life that creates true independence. A democracy not a convenience.

They will never take our freedeom. Terrorists will never fully understand what it means to be free.

I am the flag of the United States of America. I was born on June 14 1777 in Philadelphia. There the Continental Congress adopted my stars and stripes as the national flag. My thirteen stripes alternating red and white with a union of thirteen white stars in a field of blue represented a new constellation a new nation dedicated to the personal and religious liberty of mankind. Today fifty stars signal from my union one for each of the fifty sovereign states in the greatest constitutional republic the world has ever known.

My colors symbolize the patriotic ideals and spiritual qualities of the citizens of my country. My red stripes proclaim the fearless courage and integrity of American men and boys and the self-sacrifice and devotion of American mothers and daughters. My white stripes stand for liberty and equality for all. My blue is the blue of heaven loyalty and faith. I represent these eternal principles: liberty justice and humanity. I embody American freedom: freedom of speech religion assembly the press and the sanctity of the home.

I typify that indomitable spirit of determination brought to my land by Christopher Columbus and by all my forefathers - the Pilgrims Puritans settlers at James town and Plymouth. I am as old as my nation. I am a living symbol of my nation's law: the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights. I voice Abraham Lincoln's philosophy: "A government of the people by the peoplefor the people." I stand guard over my nation's schools the seedbed of good citizenship and true patriotism. I am displayed in every schoolroom throughout my nation; every schoolyard has a flag pole for my display.

Daily thousands upon thousands of boys and girls pledge their allegiance to me and my country.

I have my own law-Public Law 829 "The Flag Code" - which definitely states my correct use and display for all occasions and situations. I have my special day Flag Day. June 14 is set aside to honor my birth. Americans I am the sacred emblem of your country. I symbolize your birthright your heritage of liberty purchased with blood and sorrow. I am your title deed of freedom which is yours to enjoy and hold in trust for posterity.

If you fail to keep this sacred trust inviolate if I am nullified and destroyed you and your children will become slaves to dictators and despots. Eternal vigilance is your price of freedom.

As you see me silhouetted against the peaceful skies of my country remind yourself that I am the flag of your country that I stand for what you are - no more no less. Guard me well lest your freedom perish from the earth. Dedicate your lives to those principles for which I stand: "One nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all."

I was created in freedom. I made my first appearance in a battle for human liberty.

God grant that I may spend eternity in my "land of the free and the home of the brave" and that I shall ever be known as "Old Glory" the flag of the United States of America.

This from a Canadian newspaper is worth sharing.

America: The Good Neighbor.

Wide spread but only partial news coverage was given recently to a remarkable editorial broadcast from Toronto by Gordon Sinclair a Canadian television commentator. What follows is the full text of his trenchant remarks as printed in the Congressional

Record:
"This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for theAmericans as the most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the earth.Germany Japan and to a lesser extentBritain an Italy were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of these countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States. When France was in danger of collapsing in 1956 it was the Americans who propped it up and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it.

When earthquakes hit distant cities it is the United States that hurries in to help. This spring 59 American communities were flattened by tornadoes. Nobody helped. The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped billions of dollars into discouraged countries. Now newspapers in those countries are writing about the decadent warmongering Americans. I'd like to see just one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplane. Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet the Lockheed Tri-Star or the Douglas DC10? If so why don't they fly them? Why do all the International lines except Russia fly American Planes?

Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or woman on the moon? You talk about Japanese technocracy and you get radios. You talk about German technocracy and you get automobiles. You talk about American technocracy and you find men on the moon - not once but several times and safely home again.

You talk about scandals and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everybody to look at. Even their draft-dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets and most of them unless they are breaking Canadian laws are getting American dollars from ma and pa at home to spend here.

When the railways of France Germany and India were breaking down through age it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke. I can name you 5000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake.

Our neighbors have faced it alone and I'm one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them get kicked around. They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not one of those."

Stand proud America!

Great Powerful Piece by L. Pitts addressed to terrorists
Wed Sep 12 08:40:41 2001

They pay me to tease shades of meaning from social and cultural issues to provide words that help make sense of that which troubles the American soul. But in this moment of airless shock when hot tears sting disbelieving eyes the only thing I can find to say the only words that seem to fit must be addressed to the unknown author of this suffering.

You monster. You beast. You unspeakable bastard. What lesson did you hope to teach us by your coward's attack on our World Trade Center our Pentagon us? What was it you hoped we would learn? Whatever it was know that you failed. Did you want us to respect your cause? You just damned it.Did you want to make us fear? You just steeled our resolve. Did you want to tear us apart? You just brought us together.

Let me tell you about my people. We are a vast and quarrelsome family a family rent by racial cultural political and class division but a family nonetheless. We're frivolous yes capable of expending tremendous emotional energy on pop cultural minutiae -- a singer's revealing dress a ball team's misfortune a cartoon mouse.

We're wealthy too spoiled by the ready availability of trinkets and material goods and maybe because of that we walk through life with a certain sense of blithe entitlement. We are fundamentally decent though peace-loving and compassionate. We struggle to know the right thing and to do it. And we are the overwhelming majority of us people of faith believers in a just and loving God.

Some people -- you perhaps -- think that any or all of this makes us weak. You're mistaken. We are not weak. Indeed we are strong in ways that cannot be measured by arsenals.

Yes we're in pain now. We are in mourning and we are in shock. We're still grappling with the unreality of the awful thing you did still working to make ourselves understand that this isn't a special effect from some Hollywood blockbuster isn't the plot from a Tom Clancy novel.

Both in terms of the awful scope of its ambition and the probable final death toll your attacks are likely to go down as the worst acts of terrorism in the history of the United States and indeed the history of the world. You've bloodied us as we have never been bloodied before.

But there's a gulf of difference between making us bloody and making us fall. This is the lesson Japan was taught to its bitter sorrow the last timeanyone hit us this hard the last time anyone brought us such abrupt and monumental pain. When roused we are righteous in our outrage terrible in our force. When provoked by this level of barbarism we will bear any suffering pay any cost go to any length in the pursuit of justice.

I tell you this without fear of contradiction. I know my people as you do not. What I know reassures me. It also causes me to tremble with dread of the future. In days to come there will be recrimination and accusation fingers pointing to determine whose failure allowed this to happen and what can be done to prevent it from happening again. There will be heightened security misguided talk of revoking basic freedoms.

We'll go forward from this moment sobered chastened sad. But determined too. Unimaginably determined. There is steel beneath this velvet. That aspect of our character is seldom understood by those who don't know us well. On this day the family's bickering is put on hold. As Americans we will weep as Americans we will mourn and as Americans we will rise in defense of all that we cherish.

Still I keep wondering what it was you hoped to teach us. It occurs to me that maybe you just wanted us to know the depths of your hatred. If that's the case consider the message received. And take this message in exchange: You don't know my people. You don't know what we're about. You don't know what you just started. But you're about to learn.

A MIRACLE AMERICA

The morning sun is golden, In the evergreen trees
Like Freedom,s sacred flame, On the Statue of Liberty
The landing of the Pilgrims, On our verdant shores
It's still the hope of many, To open freedom's door

Have you seen, The light of freedom
It's there for everyone, High above the harbor
Bound by no horizon, A Miracle America
The dream lives on and on

The Gateway Arch is shining, Afternoons on the plains
We're grateful to be sharing, In this harvest of choice grain
The prairie schooners ventured, Through the unknown terrains
And in the hearts of many, A pioneer spirit remains

And towards a glowing promise, They headed to the West
Past the shadows of Grand Canyon, How noble was their quest
Beyond these earthly boundaries, To leave footprints in moon dust
We can take those giant leaps,Cause it's In God We Trust

The California gold rush, In Forty eight and nine
And the last gleaming spike, Driven in the railway line
The Golden Gate at sunset,Black and yellow red and white
Every race will turn to gold, As we face the amber light

Have you seen, The light of freedom
It's there for everyone, High above the harbor
Bound by no horizon, A Miracle America
The dream lives on and on, A Miracle America, The dream lives on and on

"What if there were no U.S.A.?"

It's a Wonderful America

Over the years I have watched the anger and bitterness expressed against our nation by many detractors around the world. Like many Americans, I have wondered how things would be if we weren't the target of the world's hate.

The Jimmy Stewart film, "It's A Wonderful Life," posits an interesting situation that relates to my feelings. In the film, Stewart is presented with a challenging opportunity---an angel allows him to see the world as it would have been without his presence. The concept of the film prompted me to ask a similar question: "What would have happened if America had never existed?"

If America had never existed, the world would be a much different place. The world would be missing many things it deems as necessities. In the area of science and invention there would be no television, radio, telephones, electric lights, motion pictures, computers, airplanes, steamboats, spaceships, washing machines, microwaves, and air conditioning.

The medical field would be a black hole. There would be no penicillin, antibiotics, medicines of all kinds, medical procedures now considered common-place, blood plasma, transfusions, anesthetics, and medical machines that are irreplaceable.

In the world of agriculture and food production there would be no special seeds, miracle crops, systems of animal husbandry, food processing, tin cans for preservation, and refrigeration.

In the area of government there would be no democracies, no freedom, no civil rights, no voting, no courts, no care about right and wrong. Without America, Nazi Germany would have won the war, Japan would be ruling in Asia, England and France would no longer exist, and a hundred new countries would be missing from the world map.

Without America, Europe and the world would have starved and communism would have eventually engulfed the earth.

Without America, there would be no Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Mark Twain, Billy Graham, Thomas Edison, Martin Luther King, Clara Barton, and other great men and women who have blessed the earth.

Without America, countries that experience earthquakes, famines, and natural disasters of all kinds would be on their own, for there would be no Americans flying food, clothing, blankets, medical supplies and bags of money into those needy countries. Without America, there would be very few missionaries, no hospitals in jungles and deserts, few churches, no foreign aid or food programs, and no giving.

Yes, without America there would be no one to blame, no one to curse, and the world's people would be sitting in their mud huts contemplating the darkness.

Different perspective...Editorial from a Romanian newspaper

Why are Americans so united? They don't resemble one another even if you paint them! They speak all the languages of the world and form an astonishing mixture of civilizations. Some of them are nearly extinct, others are incompatible with one another, and in matters of religious beliefs, not even God can count how many they are.

Still, the American tragedy turned three hundred million people into a hand put on the heart. Nobody rushed to accuse the White House, the army, the secret services that they are only a bunch of losers. Nobody rushed to empty their bank accounts. Nobody rushed on the streets nearby to gape about.

The Americans volunteered to donate blood and to give a helping hand. After the first moments of panic, they raised the flag on the smoking ruins, putting on T-shirts, caps and ties in the colors of the national flag. They placed flags on buildings and cars as if in every place and on every car a minister or the president was passing. On every occasion they started singing their traditional song: "God Bless America!".

Silent as a rock, I watched the charity concert broadcast on Saturday once, twice, three times, on different TV channels. There were Clint Eastwood,Willie Nelson, Robert de Niro, Julia Roberts, Cassius Clay, Jack Nicholson, Bruce Springsteen, Silvester Stalone, James Wood, and many
others whom no film or producers could ever bring together.

The American's solidarity spirit turned them into a choir. Actually, choir is not the word. What you could hear was the heavy artillery of the American soul. What neither George W. Bush, nor Bill Clinton, nor Colin Powell could say without facing the risk of stumbling over words and sounds, was being heard in a great and unmistakable way in this charity concert.

I don't know how it happened that all this obsessive singing of America didn't sound croaky, nationalist, or ostentatious! It made you green with envy because you weren't able to sing for your country without running the risk of being considered chauvinist, ridiculous, or suspected of who-knows-what mean interests.

I watched the live broadcast and the rerun of its rerun for hours, listening to the story of the guy who went down one hundred floors with a woman in a wheelchair without knowing who she was, or of the Californian hockey player, who fought with the terrorists and prevented the plane from hitting a target that would have killed other hundreds or thousands of people. How on earth were they able to bow before a fellow human?

Imperceptibly, with every word and musical note, the memory of some turned into a modern myth of tragic heroes. And with every phone call, millionsn and millions of dollars were put in a collection aimed at rewarding not a man or a family, but a spirit which nothing can buy. What on earth can unite the Americans in such a way? Their land? Their galloping history? Their economic power? Money? I tried for hours to find an answer, humming songs and murmuring phrases which risk of sounding like
commonplaces. I thought things over, but I reached only one conclusion.

Only freedom can work such miracles!

This is one of the most tastefully done and meaningful messages I have seen come out of the Sept 11 tragedy. There is a real message for us. Take time to watch the American flag as it changes to show many images in the background. Hope you enjoy.

Kathy's Prayer

"IN GOD WE TRUST"
Dear God,

We are grateful for this great country and those who came before us who worked and fought and died to make this truly the land of the free and the home of the brave. We are grateful to live these wonderful lives as Americans. This
week we learned how swiftly and easily this life can be lost.

We pray for our fellow Americans who were taken from us and for those who loved them who were left behind to bear the unbearable. We pray for those brave people who have and continue to work tirelessly in the rescue and recovery of the innocent victims of this unthinkable crime.

We pray for the leaders of this great country and all the leaders of the free world to know the steps to take to combat this evil and to do your will to bring justice to this world.

And, most importantly, we pray for our children and grandchildren and those that come after that they may always live free and
someday know a world at peace.

Dear God, please guide and protect our sons and daughters in our armed forces.

Bless this world and, please God, Bless America.

"When fear invades,

pervades, paralyzes -

I remember Jesus's love and breathe a prayer.

I breathe out, relinquish fear, anxiety, thank God for presence.

I breathe in, receive peace and power in Spirit

CAMP OSAMA

HELLO MULLAH, HELLO FATAH (CAMP OSAMA)
Tune: "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh (Camp Granada)"
[which was to the tune, "Dance of the Hours"]

Hello Mullah, Hello Fatah, Here I am at Camp Osama,
Camp is very Entertaining,And they say we'll have some fun in basic training.

I went bombing, With Mohammed. He blew up like - Halley's comet.
No use going To the surgeons,There were parts of him enough for sixty virgins.

All the Sunnis, Hate the Saudis, And the innies, Hate the outies,
But there's one thing We agree on: All the beds are awful hard to get to sleep on.

Camp looks nothing, Like the pictures, They showed us at- The recruiter's.
And the food is Pretty rotten.Guess it looks like I've been lied to by bin Laden.

Take me home, Oh Mullah, Fatah! Take me home, I hate Osama.
Don't leave me, Out in Afghanistan, To find my ashes in a can.

Take me home, I promise I won't Pierce my ears
Or look at girls like Britney Spears.
Oh, please don't make me stay, I've been here one whole day.

I hear airplanes,They're approaching. . . .All our bases Are exploding!
There's no hiding, From a bomber--Must close quick now 'cause I'm leaving Camp Osama. . . .

Sixty maidens, And they're virgin, But a slightly Different version:
They all look like Janet Reno! [OY VEY!] Mullah, Fatah, this is hell but how did we know?

Flag story

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves under the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.

A protest raged on a courthouse lawn, Round a makeshift stage they charged on,
Fifteen hundred or more they say,Had come to burn a Flag that day.

A boy held up the folded Flag, Cursed it, and called it a dirty rag.
An OLD MAN pushed through the angry crowd,With a rusty shotgun shouldered proud.

His uniform jacket was old and tight, He had polished each button, shiny and bright.
He crossed that stage with a soldier's grace, Until he and the boy stood face to face.

"FREEDOM OF SPEECH", the OLD MAN said, "Is worth dying for, good men are dead,
So you can stand on this courthouse lawn, And talk us down from dusk to dawn,
But before any Flag gets burned today,This OLD MAN IS GOING TO HAVE HIS SAY!!

My father died on a foreign shore, In a war they said would end all war.
But Tommy and I wasn't even full grown, Before we fought in a war of our own.
And Tommy died on Iwo Jima's beach, In the shadow of a hill he couldn't quite reach
Where five good men raised this Flag so high, That the WHOLE DAMN WORLD COULD SEE IT FLY.

I got this bum leg that I still drag, Fighting for this same old Flag.
Now there's but one shot in this old gun, So now it's time to decide which one,

Which one of you will follow our lead,To stand and die for what you believe?
For as sure as there is a rising sun, You'll burn in Hell 'fore this Flag burns, son.

Now this riot never came to pass. The crowd got quiet and that can of gas,
Got set aside as they walked away. To talk about what they had heard this day.
And the boy who had called it a "dirty rag", Handed the OLD SOLDIER the folded Flag.

So the battle of the Flag this day was won. By a tired OLD SOLDIER with a rusty gun,
Who for one last time, had to show to some,

THIS FLAG MAY FADE, YET THESE COLORS DON'T RUN.

THE WALL

Three men , a Canadian, Osama Bin Ladin and President Bush are out walking together one day.... They come across a lantern and a Genie pops out of it. "I will give each of you one wish, that's threewishes total," says the Genie.

The Canadian says, "I am a farmer, my dad was a farmer, and my son will also farm. I want the land to be forever fertile in Canada. "With a blink of the Genie's eye, 'POOF' the land in Canada was forever made fertile for farming....

Osama Bin Ladin was amazed, so he said, "I want a wall around Afganistan, so that no infidels and Jews can come into our precious state." Again, with a blink of the Genie's eye, 'POOF' there was a huge wall around Afganistan....

President Bush, asks, "I'm very curious. Please tell me more about this wall."
The Genie explains, "Well, it's about 15,000 feet high, 500 feet thick and completely surrounds the country; nothing can get in or out---virtually impenetrable."

President Bush says, "Very impressive," "Fill it with water."

Here is a poem that I wrote in defense of America's position in this war.

To stand aside as buildings fall, And fear becomes our state,

To bend to those inflicting pain, Through violent acts of hate,

This is not our Nation's will, And they, who test our might,

Shall wake the Eagle from its peace, And call him down to fight.

Twas the night before christmas.........

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, HE LIVED ALL ALONE,
IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF PLASTER AND STONE.

I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE,
AND TO SEE JUST WHO IN THIS HOME DID LIVE.

I LOOKED ALL ABOUT, A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE,
NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS, NOT EVEN A TREE.

NO STOCKING BY MANTLE, JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND,
ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES OF FAR DISTANT LANDS.
WITH MEDALS AND BADGES, AWARDS OF ALL KINDS,
A SOBER THOUGHT CAME THROUGH MY MIND.

FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT, IT WAS DARK AND DREARY,
I FOUND THE HOME OF A SOLDIER ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY.
THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING, SILENT, ALONE,
CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR IN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME.

THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE, THE ROOM IN SUCH DISORDER,
NOT HOW I PICTURED A UNITED STATES SOLDIER.
WAS THIS THE HERO OF WHOM I'D JUST READ?
CURLED UP ON A PONCHO, THE FLOOR FOR A BED?

I REALIZED THE FAMILIES THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT,
OWED THEIR LIVES TO THESE SOLDIERS WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT.
SOON ROUND THE WORLD, THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY,
AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY.

THEY ALL ENJOYED FREEDOM EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR,
BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS, LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE.
I COULDN'T HELP WONDER HOW MANY LAY ALONE,
ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME.

THE VERY THOUGHT BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE,
I DROPPED TO MY KNEES AND STARTED TO CRY.
THE SOLDIER AWAKENED AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE,
"SANTA DON'T CRY, THIS LIFE IS MY CHOICE;

I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM, I DON'T ASK FOR MORE,
MY LIFE IS MY GOD, MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS."
THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP,
I COULDN'T CONTROL IT, I CONTINUED TO WEEP.

I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS, SO SILENT AND STILL
AND WE BOTH SHIVERED FROM THE COLD NIGHT'S CHILL..
I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE ON THAT COLD, DARK, NIGHT,
THIS GUARDIAN OF FREEDOM SO WILLING TO FIGHT.

THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER, WITH A VOICE SOFT AND PURE
WHISPERED, "CARRY ON SANTA, IT'S CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL IS SECURE."
ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH, AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT.
"MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIEND, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT

" MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL "

You say you will never forget where you were when you heard the news on September 11, 2001. Neither will I. I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called his
wife to say "Good-Bye." I held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the peace to say, "Honey, I am not going to make it, but it is OK...I am ready to go."

I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to their children. I held her up as she tried to understand his words and as she realized he wasn't coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a woman cried out to Me forhelp. "I have been knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!" I said. "Of course I will show you the way home - only believe in Me now."

I was at the base of the building with the Priest ministering to the injured and devastated souls. I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat, with every prayer.

I was with the crew as they were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them that their faith has saved them.

I was in Texas, Kansas, London. I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news. Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought Me with their last breath.

Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the smoke and flames; "Come to Me... this way... take my hand." Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.

But, I was there. I did not place you in the Tower that day. You may not know why, but I
do. However, if you were there in that explosive moment in time, would you have reached for Me?

September 11, 2001 was not the end of the journey for you. But someday your journey will end. And I will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are "ready to go."

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

Subject: Don't Go

Don't go to the bathroom on Jan. 28th. CIA intelligence reports that a major plot is planned for that day. Anyone using a toilet on the 28th will be bitten on the ass by an alligator. Reports indicate that organized groups of alligators are planning to rise up into unsuspecting American's
toilet bowls and bite them when they are doing their dirty business. I usually don't send emails like this, but I got this information from a reliable source.

It came from a friend of a friend whose cousin is dating this girl whose brother knows this guy whose wife knows this lady whose husband buys hotdogs from this guy who knows a shoeshine guy who shines the shoes of a mailroom worker who has a friend who's drug dealer sells drugs to another mailroom worker who works in the CIA building. He apparently overheard two guys talking in the bathroom about alligators and came to the conclusion that we are going to be attacked. So it must be true.

God's Army

Author Unknown

It was late one Tuesday evening, Before a mother could sit down,
To tell her only child about The terror that hit downtown.

She looked into the eyes of her son - God, she loved him so,
She felt her heart begin to break And the hurt begin to show.

She gathered all her strength and courage, as her story she began to tell.
"Baby don't cry, but I'm afraid daddy Might be under a building that fell."

The boy looked back at his mother, His eyes made not one blink.
And the mother's tears began to fall. What would her baby think?

You see, his dad is a firefighter, And his hero from the day of his birth.
He loved his dad more than anything else That could ever inherit this earth.

The mother's head began to drop, Her forehead resting on palm.
She thought her son would be upset. Instead, he was very calm.

The boy leaned over towards his mom, And put his hand upon her head.
In her ear he began to whisper, And this is what he said:

"Mommy please don't cry, I knew daddy wasn't coming home.
I talked to him just a while ago, But it wasn't on the phone.

He told me that he loved me, And he promised we'd meet again.
He told of his new home, And the job he was to begin."

"God is building an army, And there are many angels needed.
That, is where daddy and the others went. They weren't all defeated."

It was then, the mother lifted her head. The tears streamed down her face.
And she could feel her husband's presence, As it filled her heart with grace.

It was then she knew her son was right. He was in God's great army now.
She also knew her son was safe, That he'd be kept from harm somehow.

So, evil-doers of the world beware. An army is on the way.
Bolstered by new angels, Who left the towers that day..

Their commander has never been beaten. His power has never been matched,
And if evil thinks He was almighty before...... Well, the surface has just been scratched!

GOD BLESS AMERICA !!!!!

This is written by a servicemember that remains nameless. He has not asked to be nameless, I have just now received his permission to forward it. Some might find it a bit harsh, but I see a lot of truth in his message.

Dear Americans,
When I opened my e-mail this morning I had about twenty forwards of the article written by Gordon Sinclair, the Canadian who so eloquently praised the United States. What most of you do not realize is that this commentary was written many years ago. Those of us in the Military Service have known about it for a long time. Now, Americans are flooding the net with it as if it were new. It is not. When it was written most Americans didn't read it, because most Americans did not care.

The tragedy that befell all of us on September 11th shocked America. America no longer feels safe. Many of you have said, "The government should have known! 30 Billion Dollars is spent on intelligence! What about the Military!?"

Just a reminder America, you voted our government into office. For years you allowed some dishonest politicians and twisted television media personalities to shape your ideas about the defense of our nation. Why? Because most Americans were too lazy to look beyond the three minute sound-bites on the evening news. Here's a news flash not being broadcast much, "On September 11th, America had the exact level of protection, both militarily and intelligence, that it was willing to pay for".

Only yesterday the Congress and the Senate approved 40 BILLION dollars as a "Down Payment" to fight this War. A short time ago, our politicians said a 100 Million dollar increase for the Navy budget was substantial. In that same bill they ordered the Navy to conduct an 85 Million Dollar Study on...guess what America!? Missiles Defense?! No. Desperately needed parts for our fighter aircraft? Wrong again. Training for Navy Seals? Nah uh. They wanted Breast Cancer research. Yes, America, your elected officials decided that the US Navy needed more mammograms and less missiles. Was this an under the table sneaky move? No, it was right out in the open. The Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of the Navy both opposed it. A New York Senatorial Candidate (Yes, she's the one) was enraged that the Military would be so sexist and irresponsible to the needs of civilians and wanted the Navy to give the money back immediately! But the media paid it little mind. So, America paid little attention.

Did any one ever watch CSPAN? Particularly when the Heads of our Armed Services essentially begged OUR representatives to give the Military more money to fight terrorism and maintain a strong defense? Did you see the debates by the Heads of the Intelligence Services that terrorism was the new threat? They told the committees of Congress that the CIA, the FBI, and the Service did not have the money to build the necessary intelligence networks in the areas where terrorists were being harbored. They warned again and again that there was clear and present danger within America's borders. America must have been watching one of the other 114 satellite channels.

The Military said: "We need more money to maintain military readiness and Combat Training." America Answered : "What the Military needs is Sensitivity Training! You're all sexist homophobes! I saw it on 60 Minutes!"

The Military said: "We need money to build ships, planes, tanks, and improve our technology. America still has credible threats throughout the world. Terrorism will come to America's doorstep." America Answered: "You're all part of a vast right-wing conspiracy. There is no more Soviet Threat! My Senator told me so! He/She says we do not need such a big military! You're dinosaurs trying to hold onto the Cold War! We need Social Programs!"

The Military said: "We need to recruit more Americans into the military. We need to increase our force."America Answered: "You're not taking my kids! We're going to shut down the ROTC programs at our high schools and universities, because you discriminate against alternative lifestyles! ROTC teaches CHILDREN (under 21) how to shoot guns! You just want another Columbine! Rosie and Oprah say so!"

The Military said: "We can't keep interfering in the civil wars of small insignificant countries. It wastes our time, expends our resources, decreases training, and demoralizes our troops. The men and women of the United States are Warriors trying to defend OUR nation, we are not the third world's police force." America Answered: "You heartless bastards! Can't you see the tear in the eye of that starving child!! There are flies on her face for Christ's Sake!? Get Moving! Jesse Jackson on CNN said that is what we pay you for!"

The Military Asked: "Why isn't America enraged over the terrorist attack on the USS COLE that killed seventeen AMERICAN Sailors? How about the Air Force barracks bombed in Saudi Arabia? The embassy staffs in Africa? The Soldiers mutilated and dragged through the streets in Somalia?" America Answered: "We don't have time right now! We're busy defending Animal Rights! Our schools are handing out automatic weapons! The federal government is discriminating against cross-dressing Bolivian hermaphrodites! The police are all members of the Ku Klux Klan! The lack of Ozone is ruining my tan! If they cut deeper into Food Stamps those poor women will have to move down to Size 18/20 Channel dresses! AND THE WORST! Corporations are raising the prices of there products sooo high I might not be able to afford the multi-disc DVD Player for my 36" digital ready TV! Besides, YOU GUYS ARE PAID TO DIE!

So, America, while you sit on your couch or around your office coffee pots and ask, "Why did those terrorists kill innocent civilians? Why didn't they go after the Military?"

Remember this America: They already had but America didn't care. These Terrorists realized that they needed to kill American Civilians, and lots of them, before they could have their desired reaction from the people of this country. Well, now they have it.

Hero's Price

Fallen soldier, American hero
To serve is soldiers' sacrifice.
Heroes all, soldiers' mission,
Some will die for freedom's sake.

Duty to serve, duty to risk,
to run the gauntlet, his life for country.
He paid the price for our security.
The ultimate cost for freedom's sake.

Families pride though little solace.
Sacrificed... their son for country.
His parents are home-side heroes.
Their hearts are torn 'tween grief and pride.

The wife and children shall not forget
the husband, father they loved so well.
Sacrifice for us they bear,
the solemn grief, with pride they wear.

Patriot lives cost, born America.
Fallen soldier joins freedom's greats.
We citizens grieve each price of life.
Patriot life paid to secure the USA.

I wrote this poem in tribute to those who died on 9/11. No only in memory of all those who died on that particular airplane, but to all those who began their battle against evil that day.

The Ballad of Flight 93 - by Sandra Parten, Honey Grove, Texas

You can speak of Davy Crockett, And the men at Alamo

Who gave their lives for freedom, in Texas...long ago.

You can revere the name of Washington, And his men who left home and hearth

Into great and vigorous battles, Helping this great nation in her birth.

In history we will always find them, Men with courage, extra honed, filled with love.

Men who cross the dark line of courage, Into a rare breed like those named above.

Passengers who boarded a plane in New Jersey, Americans of every blood, age and race.

Never thinking that destine would soon give a test, That few man in history must face.

When confronted with ultimate evil, And with courage strong in their breasts.

They thought only of innocents below them, And stood strong to their dreadful test.

With one last call to a loved one, For one last prayer did they pause.

With one last hope in their broken hearts, They banded together in their cause.

Conviction of right flowed free in their veins. They knew what they fearlessly must do.

They gave their lives to save others, Like brave men in the past we all knew.

The Spirit of Freedom burned hot in each breast, They formed a terrible plan.

Knowing the ultimate end of their sacrifice bold, One breathed deeply and shouted, "Let's Roll"

Called to lead the first fight against terror, Soldiers, drafted by fate on that bright sunny morn

Without helmet, uniform or gun, Charged fearlessly into war... sudden born.

Greater Love than this is no greater, Than those who lay down life for their friend.

So...lament not for the souls of those heroes, Men and women, Americans...defiant to the end

Yes, when we think of bold invincible courage, We need look no farther back on our tree.

Then the good (wo)men who wrestled with evil, And took back Flight 93.

. I began writing this poem in the late 70's, during and after Vietnam, (I am a grandmother, now), adde d to it after the Gulf War and finally finished it after 9-ll. I hope you like it

A M R I A

She still stands, wearily flashing her message of hope.
Some of the letters are missing, from her neon sign.

Once revered, now scorned,
Her cheeks are burned from global warming.
Her outstretched hand is scarred, by debris from the Twin Towers.

The poor she asked for, brought riots, crime and war.
She gave them her children's jobs, they asked for their food.

She gave them their jobs, but they will not learn their language.
To others she gave her wheat. They prepared bombs for her.
She hoped for peace and goodwill.
Saddam said, "Go to hell."

The laws which once protected, Now cause her people to be withdrawn,
Non-controversial. Afraid to protect themselves, even in their own homes.

Her justice system is overflowing with criminals.
And they are not the ones in jail.

America, where does your hope lie? In distant graves of valiant men?
Or, in the hopelessness of Afghanistan? In Mai Lai Fours, or in Gulf Wars.

Please don't ask again for their poor. We have enough of our own.

Please turn back the boats of their freedom, for we are prisoners.

Keep the torch burning bright. We need more light on Long Island Sound.

"Send me your huddled masses, yearning to breathe free."

Call America. 9 - l l.
