Why?
Why is it that all reporters today on Television
and some radio do not report objectively or fair like they say they
do? The draw there own conclusions and stuff there thoughts in your
face. I think most of them could run on the Dem. ticket and you would
not be able to tell the difference. They attack the President on this
Harkin Oil thing constantly now since this is all they have to go
on. They dare not talk about there dear Bill Clinton, a know sex offender
running in a gym with a bunch of kids!! It just makes me sick. I should
have followed what my parents said and became a reporter. I would
be the only objective reporter left!

China, the DNC and the 3 blind mice
The media's complete disregard of the DNC - China
connection is uniquely maddening. You always say that as conservatives
we cannot count on the network media to fairly cover and report on
current events. I agree. But to completely disregard a story as important
as a foreign power, with nuclear capability, attempting to influence
the course of an American election, is downright treasonous. To see
large dollar transactions followed by significant changes in the way
our government determines the security of sensitive, classified information
and its transfer to foreign powers is disturbing. A republican has
a tryst with his secretary twenty years ago and its a headline. A
Democrat sells nuclear secrets to a foreign power and its is not even
investigated?

News Media and Democrat Partnership
The constant drum beating of media players and Democratic
party operators against anything conservative or Republican is unnerving.
But they did the same thing in '94 against the contract, and they
lost th House and Senate! The difference was the national Republican
party was united on a core set of beliefs and ideas, which were easily
understood by the public. The public responded inspite of the heaviest
media barrage of criticism and heckling. The problem is not really
that the public doesn't care for MonicaGate, but that the Republicans
have sold out their ideas hoping for better polls.
If Republicans were to boldly apply conservative
(and moral)ideas (ideas they already have in their possession), to
the public school crisis, social security, etc. in a simple way the
public can readily understand, (as they did with the Contract), the
public will back us. The news media will never have anything good
to say. Forget about Monica and Whitewater being the downfall of Clinton.
We need to focus on conservative ideas to solve problems. That,s what
the public really wants, and that what will keep Republicans in charge!
Yours truly
Ken

Media
We need to get the conservative view out to the main
stream sound byte thinking world. Newt's ideas were good and his thinking
was logical, unfortunately, he was over the average guys head. The
Democrats, in a word, lie better and use the media to spin lies into
truth. We fail to recognize this and make the truth heard effectively.

to have another revolution????

Flynt and Geraldo's Rating!
It took a village according to Hillary but it took
a chair over the back to launch trash show host Geraldo Rivera. After
the chair incident, Geraldo championed the cause for the prosecution
of O.J. Simpson and he gained popularity. Even after he "renigged"
and switched sides to approval of O.J.'s acquittal, his popularity
grew. Now, Geraldo, has really proven himself as a "come-back
kid", is acting as a conduit for Bubba and Hillary's dirty tricks
basket sponsoring guests like Serpent Carvel, Boxer Barbara and Larry
"sleaze-bag" Flynt. We must thank NBC for permitting this
pulpit to aired and for allowing Geraldo to mold and manage his guest
list to support the democratic cause and Bubba, the leader of the
pack. This certainly has elevated the status of the Jerry Springer
show and somehow their guests seem more credible. And more respectable
than the pep club guest list on Geraldo's propaganda blitz. Once the
impeachment happens we'll see more flying chairs and hopefully it
will be Bubba and Hillary's loyal supporters vacating their esteemed
positions!

The GOP is in a Catch-22 position. Getting friendly
with the press, as Rich Galen (*) has recently suggested, is to take
a position amenable to those who control it. Not getting friendly
with the press ensures the continuation of enmity.
The only solution for the GOP is to join the media
moguls in an effort to accelerate entropy in this nation. It would
be interesting watching the press perform "back-flips" in
an effort to retard decay and prevent the possible awakening of the
American populace.
Does the GOP care enough about American decline to
put their continued existence as a political party on the line in
an effort to reverse the process? Or will they continue with a "me-too"
strategy that merely retards the rate of decline sufficiently to allow
the populace to comfortably adjust to the direction we are taking?
My advice to the GOP is to follow Mr. Galen's suggestion
and get real cozy with the press. We should take as our battle-cry
the following statement: "Accelerate Entropy!" Although
it might make our lives and our children's uncomfortable, the survival
of our grandchildren may well depend upon it.

I.F. STONE/MITROKHIN FILES
Have you noticed the almost complete black-out in the U. S. media
regarding the "Mitrokhin" files. The revelations are huge
news in Britain, (the Sunday Times coverage was extensive). Could
it be that the American press does not want to tarnish the name of
I.F. Stone as being the recipient of KGB payoffs during the Cold War?
The report apparently hints at other prominent American newspaper
columnists being implicated also as paid Soviet propagandists.
The report of Soviet arms and explosives caches being
secreted in the this country is also worthy of media coverage and
is being ignored. Mitrokhin's stolen files open up many other items
of news worthiness also, if theSunday Times articles are true, and
there seems to be little doubt of their veracity. I hope you will
mention this on your show this week. I will be listening as I do every
day.

Propaganda Aimed at Kids
There is a cartoon shown on WB11 in NY that portrays
a whining, bellyaching, nasty NIXON doll that little ones play with
that has "clips" that say "I didn't do it ",etc
with super-whining. These kids are being programmed by this program
(seen between 7:30 &8:00AM on a weekday) to "KNOW "
that Nixon was the worst President America EVER had & give perverted
details. Thought it was sick enough to advise you -- the Left starts
very early on. Have listened to you for many years both in NJ &
NY & up & down the East coast & winters in Ft.Myers,Fla.
Thank God for a truthful, God-fearing man like you who tells it the
way it should be said.

Heroes
I am glad you brought up the subject of heroes the
past 2 days, I have long been agitated by the liberal use of the word
by the liberal press and especially sports people. I get very upset
when I hear them call a sports player a "hero" just because
they are a star player. To me it greatly diminishes the term. A hero
is someone who performs a heroic deed, such as a fireman, policeman,
or civilian who risks their own lives to save the life of another,
or soldiers in a war who risk their lives for their country, etc. I
can think of only a couple of sports figures, and there may be more,
who were actually heros. I think Roberto Clemente was a hero because
he died while trying to help others. There was an african american
football player about 10 years ago, I can't remember his name, who
jumped into a lake , even though he didn't know how to swim , to try
to save a child, and he died trying. Those are real heros and to use
that term so loosely does a grave injustice to those people who put
their lives on the line. Thanks, I love your show and I truly thank
God for you because as long as you are on the air, this country has
a fighting chance to survive.

The Media
The media is a curious thing. It is very much like
a butterfly and a bright light. The media in all its glory flips from
one story to another. Who holds the light? Is it the media or some
entity outside the media? The economic "crisis" in Asia
months ago occupied the electronic and print media for days on end.
Where is this story now? It is not reported by the media today. All
is well.
There must be a new natural law that our President
has discovered, which is that being no matter what is reported by
the media, the people are overwhelmed with news and other information,
so just hold on and shine the light elsewhere.
Has Waco really gone away? Is the Asian economy restabilized? The
Bosnian people are all well and not suffering as winter sets in. The
people in the Sudan are not living in fear for their very lives. Monica,
Jennifer and others have gone away.

For those of you in the liberal media, I am sure
you are searching for a message from the past elections. Well, look
no further. I am here to help you. Let's start with the obvious, the
election in Philly. The people in Philly are trying to find a new
freedom as the the age old message of tax and spend liberalism nearly
came to an end in the democrat heartland.
Even the former mayor ackowledged the fact that the
republican was a good candidate. But beyond that the republican message
registered with the voters, and it was superior organization that
won this election This pointed out that the republican weakness is
in it's grass roots organization and not the message that has hurt
republicans. Despite all the demonization and low turn out, republicans
held the house and it is the message, stupid, that counts - not demonization!
Moving to VA the results are obvious and Washington
state cut taxes, which is another bastion of liberalism. Moving to
San Francisco, Willie Brown, a bleeding heart liberal, is in a runoff?
Why? In MS, a runoff, but my liberal friends, it is not a battle of
liberal versus conservative. Democrats must look and act the new democrat
part like your TRUSTED frien, Bill Clinton.
The moral of the story parties are irrelevant. CONSERVATISM
will continue to triumph.
Even Gore has accused Bradley of being too far to the left - amazing!
Gore knows that cutting taxes, balancing the budget and social security,
all republican ideas by the way, will be at the canter of this election,
as well as education and health care. Conservatives offer the solution
and Gore knows it and so does Clinton. Bradley loses in a general
election. Why bring up gays in the military and talk about spending
the surplus with no plan to save social security? This is the old
democrat mantra to battle for the old core of democrats but doesn't
win independents! Gore has no leadership. It is evident that he needs
therapy from Tipper to find his identity. If he doesn't define himself,
you people in the media will do it for him and I thank you that we
can save some of Bush's money.
Thank you for this opportunity and the moral of the
story is: CONSERVATISM TRIUMPHS ONCE AGAIN. I know it is painful for
you, as you liberals are utopians. Bless your hearts but conservatism
is reality! When you die and meet Saint Peter, you can feel good about
yourself. When I die and meet Saint Peter, I can say I made the hard
choices and did my best and I accept the consequences; but my heart
was in the right place!

Dems and Rep Strategy
Working with a lot of misinformed libs in a Union
-subjected company, I have come to the realization that their 'blind
faith' in the Ruler and the Dems. are the same people that followed
Hitler. How do you deal with that kind of mentallity?
I think that we need a more balanced media. I do
not endorse any of their 'key phrases', like ( pro- choice). Even
the word, "abortion", does not mention baby or human with
it. Yet, they still thought that "abortion" was too strong
a word.
How are the conservative leaders supposed to get
their or our views out with this one-sided media? If life, liberty,
(no-politics), is just a game, we need to play the game a whole lot
smarter, because we can see ahead and don't fall for their 'quick
fixes'.

ABC & Ladies Home Journal
Sorry to bother you again, but I just read either
the USNews Review or Newsweek that ABC and the Ladies Home Journal
are proposing Jane Fonda for "Woman of the Century". If
this takes place, it should make all of our veterans feel special.
I wonder if McCain will support this. I am enclosing the attachment
I sent the other day in case it was misplaced. I know you are very
busy with Seattle and Labor's involvement, but if we can overlook
Jane Fonda's position in Hanoi, we should open the prisons and release
everyone, because the only people most of the prisoners, including
the murderers, injured were individuals; but Jane made sure it was
our entire nation. Thank you for your time.

Life today vs in the past
Anyone bemoaning how tough life is today compared
to any time in the past just doesn't know their history. Rush has
been covering some of the stuff I've wanted to say but couldn't get
thru, but . . .
a) Life in this country (and in fact in the world,
on average) is better today than at any time in recorded history;
b) Someone living in this country say 150 years ago,
if somehow transported to today, would not understand why we think
we have *any problems;
c) That having been said, we are no happier, no more
content today than were our antecedents, even tho the latter had it
much rougher. Reason, of course, is that almost no one studies history
enuf to understand. Cursory study of history will inevitably involve
that written by the upper classes about the upper classes (pretty
much the only literate people), thus imparting the rosiest possible
glow to it;
d) Conversely, our ancestors were no less content
than we because (obviously) their life was all they knew -- they didn't
miss electricity, cars, dishwashers -- you name it -- cuz they'd never
had them or heard ot them; they lived much closer to death -- high
infant mortality rate and early death from diseases we have long since
eliminated were a part of daily life. One has to read between the
lines in histories of those periods because the harshness of daily
life was a given -- it wasn't deemed worthy of note because that is
just the way it was and had always been. BTW, on Rush's comment today
that average life span was 45 years at the turn of the 20th C: sounds
like the common mistake of not factoring out the infant death rate
(death before age 1) -- brings the average *way down, but is misleading.
Once one survived that, one had a pretty fair chance of living into
one's 60's or 70's;
e) the erroneous impression abroad today that this
country (and the world) is a dangerous place is almost entirely the
doing of the media, abetted by the above-noted woeful ignorance of
history. On a per-capita basis, a citizen of this country is safer
(from crime, disease, etc) than at any time in its history, by a long
shot. The primary problem is the media (particularly the electronic
who are hired more for their dulcid tones and good looks than for
any cranial content). As an historian, it is painful to me to see
the repeated demonstrations of ignorance on the part of reporters
who, more often than not, have not a clue about the subject of their
report, yet their networks find it necessary to replay it over and
over because there is a fixed amount of time to fill, whether or not
there are news events that justify it. The result is that news is
reported "on the curve" -- similar to grading on the curve
in grade school, those stories judged most worthy or likely to get
ratings will be stacked end to end until the requisite time is filled,
whether or not those stories are worthy on any absolute scale.
Another unfortunate bi-product of an over-staffed/underemployed
news media is that events that, say, 100 years ago were local in nature
are now repeatedly trumpeted coast to coast -- so that every concerned
but historically ignorant California mother of 3 finds a danger to
her own kids in that kidnapping in New Jersey, that Ohio rape, that
New Hampshire house fire. Without the balance of historical perspective,
it is (obviously) easy to fall into the notion that the country is
a dangerous place and going to "hell in an handbasket" .

FW: Clinton, out Striesanding, Striesand.
The below article on Clinton says it all. Clinton
has been carousing around with the Hollywood rich and elite since
1992, there has never been an article of outrage at Clinton being
out of touch with average America, since Clinton is only associating
with the rich, and also playing golf with the elite, why no outrage,
what has happened is Liberal Democrat Hollywood got what they consider
"One of theirs" in office so there are no outrages even
though the activities of Clinton far exceed both Reagan and Bush and
possibly Nixon Combined, but the Media view all Republicans as the
enemy, to be scrutinized accordingly, what Steve Holland's article
points out is that Clinton, a Liberal Democrat, received a total hands
off. They will not even mention factual information when questioning
Clinton which is few, and far between, since access to Clinton is
far worst than Nixon was.
If Clinton were a Republican, his full removal impeachment
would have been demanded and gotten by the Democrat controlled and
biased Media, but as a Liberal Democrat, Clinton is viewed as one
of us to the Media, thus shameless behaviors and acts are censored
and covered up .Question of the millenium, what happens when the Media
becomes totally Corrupt ??? Answer: Clinton.
Lonely Guy Becomes Party Guy As Clinton Hits L.A. - By Steve Holland
In seven years as president, Clinton has been to California more than
60 times, a frequent guest speaker at the sprawling homes of entertainment
business executives who play host to fund-raising dinners for the
Democratic Party. When his body clock was past midnight, having flown
across the country from Washington on Friday morning, Clinton was
dining on endive salad with pecans and sirloin steak with mushrooms
at the Beverly Hills home of HaimSaban, who brought the world the
Power Rangers television cartoon and action figures. After that, a
full moon was up and Clinton went to the home of Ralph's supermarkets
businessman Ron Burkle for more late-night schmoozing, then stayed
overnight at the home of DreamWorks executive David Geffen.

The networks reported the IA Caucus results differently
for Republicans and Democrats. For the Republicans, they gave all
the votes candidates got by the numbers down to the last single digit.
However, for the democrats, they reported *only* the percentage breakdown
between Bradley and Gore.
Why you ask? Because John McCain, who placed a lowly
4th place in the Iowa vote on the Republican side still got more votes
that Al Gore, the 66% winner, got on the Democrat side. Had they reported
the numbers for the dems, they'd have said that Gore got 1000+ votes
to Bradley's 600+ votes. Not so impressive now is it? Couple that
with the fact that Republican turnout was over 10 times the dem turnout,
and one might deduce that Dems were not falling all over themselves
to rock the vote for Gore, and as usual, the media wouldn't want you
to think that.
Ask yourself why you think they'd decide that the
Dem race is best expressed in percentages, but the Republican race
best expressed in actual numbers. Limbaugh said that as he was watching
TV and noticed the trend, he asked himself this same question and
guessed it was because the Democrat's turnout was crap, and upon investigating
it, he was right.
Here's another way of putting it in perspective.
Gary Bauer, an near also-ran on the Republican side, got more votes
than Al Gore, the "landslide" winner on the Dem side got.
In a related matter (I'll get to the relation), the government has
been shut down for two days now (due to the big snowstorm). I know
most of you are wondering how our vertical blinds even worked without
the federal government up and running (if the government shut down
has not affectedyou, then shame on you for being so self-reliant!),
but here's the deal; apparently lots of government workers in DC were
pissed that they didn't get told early enough that work was off yesterday.
Many of them found out en route to work or after arriving that they
could have stayed home. Who makes this call? The head of the Office
of Personnel Management (OPM).
The problem is that the head of OPM was out of town
and not informed about the weather situation in time. Her name is
Janice something. Where was she at? She was in Iowa, of course, serving
as a Democratic precinct captain trying to drum up votes for algore.
No kidding.
Does anyone see a conflict of interest there? I wonder
what's in it for her? Promotion? More pay? Sex with Bill? I'm telling
you folks, only the Democrats play it this deep. Only the dems push
the envelope this far, and the mainstream media refuses to draw attention
to it. They don't make jokes about dead Republicans voting. The Dems
are the most corrupt thing we've ever seen, and if anyone thinks that
Nixon's bumble-headed handling of the Watergate break in somehow excuses
every act of corruption the dems have ever perpetrated, I would ask
you to stop reading Gannett newspapers.

Who gave Quayle the card with the misspelling of
"potatos" at the school spelling bee which ultimately cost
him his reputation. I remember his words to be somthing like, "This
card they gave me spells the word differently than you did, can we
check this out?" Of course the media cascaded this all over creation.
Jay Leno and Letterman both had jokes on this before the news should
normally have made the rounds. To this day, everyone bashes Quayle
because of the perfidity of some NEA official and the willing conspiracy
of the press, yet it is rare to hear Gore's gaff (The Father of the
Internet) when he preached, "Leopard's don't change their stripes!"
The "Nannygate" scandal never existed.
If you recall, The congressional panel had already heard and passed
over the alien status of the nanny. They considered it and felt it
was not important to her confirmation. Itwas only after Zoe Baird
made statements that philosphically contradicted the President's that
he withdrew her name. He couldn't argue her logically, because she
was more expert in those areas. He didn't want to pull her nomination
and unbalance his vaunted diversity in the cabinet, so Clinton's media
machine went into action and spun the Nannygate episode as the reason
Clinton was withdrawing her name, blaming it on the Xenophobic panel.
Now it is established fact, with no member of that panel ever bringing
up the obvious disinformation. When Kimba Wood, and every other nominee
were put through the Nannygate-O-Scope, I cringed at the total sell-out
by the media.

I am sending a pasted copy of my wife's email to
NBC News. This was after Katie Couric's interview this morning with
Wayne LaPierre. Is there NO accountability for news programs anymore?
Is there ANYTHING we can do to both obtain news from our TVs and still
get objective reporting?
Thank you,
Dan Bayes
Dear Katie and Producers:
I am a 35-year old mother and was appauled when I
watched the Today Show this morning. While viewing Katie's interview
with Wayne LaPierre of the NRA, I could not believe the expressions
on Katie's face. It could not have been more obvious who's side she
was on. I thought the press and reporters were supposed to be non-biased.
Does that change once you start making the big bucks? Your job, Katie,
is to bring us objective news reporting...nothing more than that.
The first question out of your mouth was "Why
are you doing this?" Please feel free to view your incredibly
angry face on the tape. If looks could kill, Mr. LaPierre would be
out of your misery.
I would ask this of you and your producers. Katie,
have you ever viewed an Eddie Eagle video. My husband and I purchased
one recently and showed it to my son. No one in the media seems to
be concerned about how our children find out about gun safety. We
may put every criminal behind bars, require licensing and gun locks.
However, that does not stop our children from picking up a gun at
another child's home and shooting it because they have never been
told any differently.
We cannot continue to sweep the cause of these problems
under the rug. Parents have a responsibility to their children. Keeping
their guns put away, and teaching their children how to be responsible
by not touching them. Unless you just fell out of the sky, you may
find this hard to believe, but many parents "DON'T" educate
their children on anything anymore. They wait for the schools to do
that for them...be it sex education, AIDS awareness or any other subject
they don't feel comfortable talking about.
If the people who chose to bring their children into
this world refuse to take responsibility for teaching their children
about safety, who will? You? I hope not. Because if your opinion was
the only one that mattered, we would be run much like the home of
Elian Gonzales. You are not my dictator, Katie. You are a simple reporter
who has allowed fame to go to your head. If you want to have your
opinion expressed on a show, the morning news is not the way to go.
Even if you said nothing, your facial features spoke volumes.
I am not a member of the NRA, but my husband is.
I reserved the right to decide on my own if it was an organization
I wanted to be involved in. Well, thanks to you, Katie, and your cohorts
and NBC, I will be contacting them as well to make my opinions known
and to add my name to their membership roster.
I, like the mothers of the Million Mom March, want
to protect my child from violence in the best way I know how. In America,
we have a Second Amendment that allows us to have a gun for our own
protection as well as the protection of our family. That is what this
country was founded on.
Protecting ourselves from the violent offenders who
keep getting set free so that they may kill again is not the answer,
adding yet another law to the books is not the answer either. I believe
gun locks are a wonderful idea, but I also believe we are dilusional
if we think that they will solve all of the violence problems. Criminal
minds will not change because we wiggle our noses and tell them to
change. Criminal minds have been around since biblical times. We must
protect ourselves, protect our children and protect our country. By
putting the criminals away, not for just a while, but for their full
sentence would certainly make a criminal think aboutwhat they have
done and make them not want to do it again.
Guns are out there and always will be. So will criminals.
However, we can protect our children through education. Knowledge
is power.

Subject: Getting Gored
Al gore has admitted openly that it was a big mistake to infer he
was responsible for creating the internet. He has also stated he has
had lapses in his past where his fund raising was less than perfect.
Using his own words "in context" is not negative. Not one
democrat on the "talk" circuits has accused the text to
be inaccurate. Nobody has claimed there are circumstances that make
this ad deceitful. The only responses i have heard is that this is
an attempt to make gore look less than honest. If the facts are correct,
and in context, and the viewer comes away with that perception, guess
what?
Gore runs ads and makes speaches accusing bush and
cheyney of ruining the enviroment, supporting apparthied, starving
children, denying healthcare to children, wanting to ruin SS, lying
to minorities, working for drug companies, working for oil companies,
& ruining texas all in the interest of helping a the rich. If
someone doesn't start hitting the airwaves soon, and explain how negative
gore has been since shortly after birth, i fear voters will start
believing all the liberal media, and think bush is the one with the
negative campaign. that my friend, is known as being "gored".

This weekend while ordering fast food I saw a man
with a boy scout shirt with his 2 teenage boys who were scouts. I
asked if he heard about the boos the invited eagle scout color guard
were given at the Democratic National Convention. He didn't know about
it. I reminded him of the media coverage given to the gay speaker
at the Republican convention.
For several days during and after the RNC the evening
news would show over and over the Texas deligates in silent protest
with heads bowed in prayer during his speech. Imagine how much more
the media pot would have been stirred if that speaker would have been
booed instead of prayed for. Isn't it funny how everyone knows about
the respectful silent protest during the RNC of a gay man who was
vocal and how almost nobody knows about the rude vocal protest during
the DNC of the boy scouts who were silent.
What a shameful and cowardly thing for adults who
have the important responsibility of choosing the next president to
humiliate their invited teenage guests who were doing nothing more
than holding the American flag. Why didn't anyone at the convention
have the guts to make any public apologies to these young men who
represent the hope and future of our country. The words tolerence
and diversity sound nice but are turing out to be just dillusionary
political weapons.

It is interesting to imagine how we came to such
a pass in this country. I believe several factors are to blame including, but
not limited to, WW2, new prosperity, baby boomers (what generation
has ever been isolated so much from its elders and so taken with its
fellow youngsters?)
It seems plain to me that the major factor is the
invention of television. For the first a lunatic can be carefully
made up and the screwy comments that are forthcoming are counterweighted
by the quality appearance of the suit worn and the calming effect
of a mild tranqualizer prior to showtime.Clothes do make the man or
woman and the most incredible comments often escape serious examination
if these otherbases are dealt with.

It wasn't long ago that a mother was ridiculed and
criticized publicly for handcuffing herself to her daughter. At the
time, I paid little attention except to think, "hmmm",.
Well, one thing is for sure...her daughter wasn't able to act upon
any violent impulses. At the time of the killings, one of the boys
who killed was under the care of a psychiatrist... perhaps he should
have been handcuffed to someone as well!
Raising four daughters in the nineties has been a
blend of inspiration and frustration. My children have no interest
in smoking so Joe Camel obviously didn't have any impact on them.
However, when I take one or all of my daughters to a movie that is
suitable for them, we are bombarded by movie trailers that appeal
to them because of the age of the characters but are not appropriate.
Thus, I usually spend 30-45 minutes after the movie debating why the
expression, "It's not that bad." isn't an adequate argument
to gain permission to see those movies.
It just seems as if parents today are caught between
a rock and a hard place. While I do not object to the production of
violent movies, music and video games, I strongly object to the blatant
advertisement of those products to my children. I don't need society's
help to raise my children but it would be nice if it wasn't fighting
against me! It's like holding a puppy in front of a three-year old
and then getting mad at the parent if the child pets it.

Isn't it time we take on our biggest challenge?
For years I've heard about how the media is biased.
What can we do about it? I suggest that we send our message to the
media as well as the Congresscritters. Look what happened with Morgan
Stanley Dean Witter after the people showed their outrage over Clinton's
speech to them. One sure fire sign of "our" numbers is the
sudden rise of Fox News Channel. Look what's happened to CNN. They
have slumped in ratings as fast and at the same time as their namesake
(Clinton News Network)"We defend all sleeeze all the time"
should have been their mantra. So let's think about firing off a few
emails to the "nightly views" anchors of ABC,CBS,NBC and
any others you think need a dose of reality.

Okay, I have to say that I have not been able to
tune into Katie C. ever since I saw her interview the Susan Smith's
husband. Remember her? She was the one who pushed her car in a lake
with her two children inside and claimed she was carjacked? Anyway,
during her interview with Susan's ex-husband, Katie had this look
on her face like "Oh, I am asking award winning questions"
"These are questions on everybody's mind". The poor husband
was miserable and near tears and Katie finally asks him if he has
imagined the sheer terror his children must have felt when their mother
pushed the car into the lake! My God Rush! She asked that question
with a grin like she was so proud of herself for being able to ask
such a hard hitting question and isn't that what makes a good reporter?
Needless to say, I shut her off and have never been
able to stand the site of her. Even when she did the special on "Harry
Potter" I wouldn't let my son watch.
I don't care how much money she is paid or how they
portray her sad life in the Tabloids, she is sick and I will never
what a show that she is involved with.
Sincerely,
Connie

The local liberal newspaper, the Oregonian, 12/12/2001
displays a perfect example of news we Portlanders are subjected to.
Note the story about the Police Chief holding a news conference 12/11/2001
to explain about a terrorist picked up here in Portland on weapons
charges. Keep in mind this was on the local new stations last night
at 5pm as !!!BREAKING NEWS!!!
I listened intently even though the chief sounded
like an idiot going on and on about how he's proving by this arrest
that he is working with federal authorities in the terrorist policing.
For about 15 minuteson and onAnyway, then I noted that the chief did
not know what prior felony the terrorist had been convicted ofHow
long he had been in the USA or Portland.
THEN IT WAS MENTIONED THAT THIS ARREST HAD TAKEN
PLACE IN OCTOBER!!!! And the chief still doesn't know, prior to a
news conference in December what the prior felony conviction was for
or how long the bad guy has been in the US. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!! If
the chief needs to jump up and down to convince someone somewhere
that he's paying attention to anything WOULDN"T HE KNOW THESE
THINGS 6 WEEKS AFTER THE ARREST IF HE GAVE A DAMN???? Jeez.and this
was all BREAKING NEWS in out little city. Thought I would share. I
also thought that since the arrest took place in October, why do the
Mayor and the Chief not think it's right to interview the persons
of interest in the community. If they did I bet the chief would know
faster than 6 weeks what the people in his jail had been previously
convicted of as he obviously can't get the information by his own
sources. Sad I say.

Jim is a coach in Childress, Texas.
Jim writes:
My name is Jim Neugent. I wrote to ABC on-line) concerning a program
called "THE PRACTICE". One of the lawyer's mothers decided
she is gay and wanted her son to go court to help her get a marriage
license to marry her 'partner'. I sent the following letter to ABC
yesterday and really did not expect a reply, but I did get one.
My original message was: ABC is obsessed or should I say abscessed)
with the subject of homosexuality. I will no longer watch any of your
attempts to convince the world that homosexuality is OK. THE PRACTICE
can be a fairly good show but last night's program was so typical
of your agenda. You picked the 'dufus' of the office to be the one
who was against the idea of his mother being gay and made him look
like a whiner because he had convictions. This type of mentality calls
people like me a "gay basher." Read the first chapter of
Romans (that's in the Bible) and see what the apostle Paul had to
say about it....He, God and Jesus were all 'gay bashers'. What if
she'd fallen in love with her cocker spaniel? Is that an alternative
lifestyle? (By the way, the Bible speaks against
that, too.) --Jim
Here is ABC's reply from the ABC on-line webmaster:
How about getting your nose out of the Bible (which is ONLY a book
of stories compiled by MANY different writers hundreds of years ago)
and read the: declaration of Independence (what our nation is built
on) where it: says "All Men are Created equal" - and try
treating them that way for a change!? Or better yet,try thinking for
yourself and stop using an archaic book of stories as your lame crutch
for your existence. You are in the minority in this country and your
boycott will not affect us or our freedom of statement.
Jim 's second response to ABC:
Thanks for your reply. Evidently, I hit a nerve from your harsh reply.
I will share it with all with whom I come in contact. Hopefully, the
Arkansas Democrat Newspaper will include it in one of their columns.
And I will be praying for you. -Jim
Note: Wouldn't Satan just love it if people stopped using the Bible
for a crutch? Please resend this to everyone in your mailbox.
Thanks,

Anyone Else See the New Show on CBS?
If you thought "West Wing" was bad...wait
until you see the new Supreme Court show, "First Monday",
on CBS! It is pure, blatant liberal propganda. They made sure each
conservative justice is an old, white good old boy. One cracks "insensitive"
jokes from the bench. The chief justice is portrayed as someone who's
mission is to make sure nobody's rights are respected. They even show
him doing the unthinkable...smoking a cigarette!! When the new justice,
the main character, speaks, you immediately hear wonderful dramatic
music...they do everything but put rays of light from heaven on him.
It is pure rubbish, and blows "West Wing" away. But, then
again, what do you expect from CBS?

The New Show-Supreme Court
I saw a posting that claimed Jerry Falwell would
be on so I watched the show; what a major disappointment. The conservatives
are cast as religious zealots, nasty, pseudo-fascists with macho issues.
Luckily, the liberal staffer comes off as a whiney, nosey, sneaky,
over emotional young woman...the other law clerks...gay maybe...who
knows?! It is the issues that count though, and the slant is definitely
liberal, where the law supersedes the wishes of the parents. I give
it one season if that, the tone of the country seems to be turning
away from such far left drivel; well, in most areas anyway; unlike
berkley, madison WI, the corn-beef commies in southern florida, and
the early-bird buffet Bolsheviks in NYC.
Too bad James Garner is on such a tool, I meant him back in the early
80's and always thought he was above all the hollywood leftist BS;
then again, maybe he just needs the work. Bad Show, Bad themes.

What was that I saw last night on TV?? EQUAL TIME
for the opposition? Will EVERY Presidential speech, news conference,
press release be followed by a "rebuttal"? Is this the "NEW
FAIRNESS" (my new term for "political correctness"
which as just about run it's usefullness, since the word "political"
tarnishes it's "purity")
Will we be subjected to Tommy and Dickie, the New
Millenium's answer to the Smothers Brothers, EVERY time our President
speaks?. Give 'em a guitar and a standup bass, at least!!!

You called the VNS/Network investigations right on!
CNN is the only network to investigate.(or so it is said) In the end,
they will spread the blame and smear the details and nothing or no
one will be held accountable. One thing that upsets me is the Republican
"pussy foots." By God if you have the obvious facts SAY
IT !!! I get so tired of these guys walking so softly around the liberals
and the media. Grow a set! and tell it like it is. Facts is the key
word however. People hate politicians that spout of half truths.

Called to "Do the people's business" "The
will of the people" "The people have spoken" , do we
next have to call one another "comrade"?
This all plays right into the dumbing down, and the spoon fed TV spots
to convince the "People" that the law and the Representative
form of government does not exist but it's how you feel about subjects,
not how you think.

Gephardt an Daschle are pathetic. At least Clinton
tried to look good when crying. I am a disgusted former Democritt
that is part of a growing movement in that party. I know crap when
I see it. I don't have to smell or taste it to see its crap anymore.
I left the blind follower tradition behind too.
I am sure they deserve coverage too. So lets get
the cable news guys to give it to them. Where is the coverage on ENRON's
ties to Clinton and other Democritts. Where is the in depth coverage
of Daschle and gang blocking appointments in our government when we
need them most. Where is the in depth coverage of them wanting to
take my tax cut away? I am not rich but I got a much needed break
from the Republicans. Where is the coverage of education reforms that
the Democritts NEVER made yet try to use as a platform?
Mr.Gephardt and Mr. Daschle were part of 8yrs. wasted
and I think the least they could do is sit down shut up and let us
get to buisness. And if I or my family wants to pray, anywhere, anytime
we will for any reason. God Bless the US.

Let me see if I understand this...
Jeb Bush's sister's daughter is ACCUSED of having
cocaine in her shoe & goes to prison for 10 days & it is headline
sort of news.
FBI video shows Slick Willie's brother... one of
those involved in Pardongate... dealing for saleable quantities of
cocaine, but it's never considered newsworthy? C'mon, members of the
4th estate, who are you kidding? Ignoring truth and distorting reality
to suit your goals and aims is not journalism... and when it stops
being journalism, it should no longer be protected when 'sources'
are requested by the government.

Jay Leno 10/30/02
I hope you look at the tapes of 10/30/02.. The Tonight
Show with Jay Leno.... and his guest Bill Moher. Leno and Bill got
into a lengthy discussion on politics.... Leno was incredible!!!!
I'm sure the night time talk show host are to remain neutral when
it comes to politics, but Mr. Leno allowed his views to come through.....
He went into lengthy detail about President Bush's actions and further
informed the public of the wonderful support Mr. Bush gave his wife
(Mavis Leno) and her organization to aid women of Afganastan. He gave
FACTS not fluff on the oil & Iraq situation!!!! It was refreshing
to hear Mr. Leno defend the Presidents actions. Please check it out...
it is well worth mentioning or playing on your talk show...

Alternative to NPR
Each day as they drive to and from work, tens of
millions of Americans make the commute more palatable by listening
totheir car radios. Of those who select the non-music option, many
eventually choose National Public Radio as, except for its decided
liberal bias, it is fairly well done. In my opinion, NPR poses a very
subtle and more dangerous threat to the values which made this country
great than most people realize.
Sadly, it is almost impossible to change or eliminate
NPR at this time as they have nearly succeeded in their efforts to
be considered an entrenched national treasure. As I see it, the only
way to cope with these people is to "build a better mousetrap."
It is likely that there are many, many businesses in our country whose
management is aware of, and disturbed by, the ill- conceived destructive
course that the liberal left espouses. I think that it would be possible
to persuade many of these companies to settle for brief, name-recognition
ads only if they felt that this would make it possible to offer a
nationwide, seemingly non-commercial, conservative counter to NPR.
I believe that in the arena of ideas, conservatives are far ahead
of liberals in understanding what makes a nation stable and prosperous
but that we often lack the will, the imagination, and the stamina
to present our beliefs as passionately and effectively as liberals
do.

The Twist of the Week concerning George Will
I receive (unsolicited) "The Week" which
I thought was an unbiased recap of the news. In the 29 November issue
they had a recap of a G eorge Will, a hero of sound thinking, article
on page 12 (The Presidency: Im migrants deserve a chance) where Will
lamented the fact, tongue in cheek, th at Jennifer Granholm, a liberal
Michigan politician, couldn't be a candidate for a position on the
Democratic ticket because she was smart and had a bea uty queen body,
but was a "foreign body." The article in " The Week"
continued to conclude that we should "tweak" th e Constitution
to permit a person who has lived in the U.S. for twenty-five years
be qualified to be president. The implied message was that George
Will supported this proposal, and this was blatantly false. I, now,
unders tand how the liberals slant the news. The framers of the Constitution
put ou r rights in concrete, and they can only be changed as they
defined, not by t he suggestion of a liberal publication.

Media Elite - Date: Fri, Jan 17 02:05 PM
Soon after his retirement and shortly before his
death, John Chancellor was speaking to a press audience(possibly the
National Press Club) on C-Span. He made a comment to the effect that
only "Journalists" had the necessary intelligence to ask
the questions of our political leadership
that were meaningful. He followed immediately with the statement,
"I can't believe I just said that." He then went on to explain
that the average American just simply did not possess the ability
to express their point of view and it was up to the press to do it
for them. This would be a good "bite" for Rush to use depicting
the elitism of the media. Jerry

On this weeks "BECKER" on CBS, Ted Danson
said and I quote " Republicans and other low-lifes" How
does the CBS network explain this? They claim to be unbias? How did
this remark slip through on a prime time sit-com?? Unless, it was
intended. Way to go CBS, I just wonder what you would say if Mr. Becker
had said Jews and other low-lifes, or African Americans and other
low-lifes??

The National & International media are gaining
momentum in spreading thier left wing liberal spin on how horrible
a military solution in Iraq would be. Rush is one of the few media
that gives information that's not politically motivated. The President
of the United States gets trashed every day for trying to elimate
the potential for another 9/11. The disrespect displayed on our nations
left wing media is disgusting to me and can't understand why republicans
can't get more involved expressing our opinons. We need more media
exposure or these (in my opinion) idiots will convince the world Sadaam
& bin Laden are really good guys that are just trying to stop
the nasty american imperialists from taking over the world.

I too, like thousands of others have cut Jennings
loose because of his unAmerican comments. Unfortunately the left wing
liberal press in this country is full of people just like him, and
the Fox News Network has become the only show in town if you want
to avoid the left wing unAmerican spoutings of the Leftist Reds. It
makes me sick that our country is being destroyed from within by these
thugs. The American government as well as the American press is being
overwhelmed by leftist Reds bent on destroying the American way of
life that our country enjoyed for so long.
God help us!

Hello Rush!
Did you see the CNBC interview with former Treasury
Sec'y Paul O'Neil today? I've got to admit I had a preconceived notion
he was going to bash the Bush economic stimulus plan. As it turned,
I coulldn't have been more wrong. He gave very thoughtful answers
to all questions and refused to be "painted in a corner"
by the CNBC hosts (even though Alan Murray tried very hard). If you
haven't already, check out Murray's commentary at cnbc.com. Despite
what us viewers got to see and hear his angle is that Mr. O'Neil is
very opposed to President Bush's economic stimulus plan...in this
internet article he refers knowledge he came across in discussions
during commercial breaks.

TRUST AMERICANS NOT THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA
IT IS APPARENTLY ALRIGHT WITH THE LIBERAL ELITISTS
(DEMOCRATS) AND THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA THAT TERRORISTS AND THEIR SPONSORING
STATES KILL AMERICAN INNOCENTS AND DESTROY OUR SYMBOLS.
HOWEVER, WHEN WE RETALIATE AGAINST THE TERRORISTS
AND THEIR SPONSORING STATES...WE ARE CRUSADING COWBOYS INTENT UPON
ATTACKING ISLAM.
THE LIBERAL MEDIA IS STILL TRYING TO MAKE POLICY...WE
ELECTED A COMPASSIONATE CONSERVATIVE NOT THE EUROPEAN LIBERAL STATISTS
THAT WILLIAM JEFFERSON AND HILLIARY CLINTON REPRESENTS.
NOTE: PLEASE ASK ANY AMERICAN WOMEN (WITH A BRAIN)
WHAT WE SHOULD DO WITH THE TERRORISTS THAT HAVE OR MAY BE ADVOCATING
TERROR TO GAIN CONTROL OF OUR LIVES AND THEIR ANSWER WILL SURPRISE
YOU.

Rush:
I spent 25 years as a member of the media and I'm
glad I'm out. I'm so
ashamed and disgusted with the concentrated effort being made by the
major newspapers, magazines and networks to put the administration
in the
worst possible light while claiming total support for our troops.
Very few
reporters today have ever been in the military. They don't have a
clue
what they are talking about.
The only network worth watching is FOX which is incidently,
beating CNN in the ratings. Seems like there would be a message there.
It's another case of the media being determined to influence national
and world events rather than just reporting both sides of an issue
fairly and letting readers and listeners draw their own conclusions.

Spoken Like a True Socialist
Columnist Andrew Sullivan serves up this tasty morsel
in his "Weekly Dish" column. In an interview with Howard
Kurtz of CNN's "Reliable Sources," liberal commentator and
screen-writer Lawrence O'Donnell was asked why there
weren't any network TV shows with credible Republican characters.
Replied O 'Donnell. "You will never get that
TV show. You'll never, ever get the Republican TV show. The Writers
Guild of America, my union, is at a minimum, 99 percent leftist liberal
and, like me, socialist. And we don't know how to write it. We don't."

Makin' It Up As They Go Along
Seems affirmative action reporter Jayson Blair isn't
the only scribe at the New York Times who plays fast and loose with
the facts. As columnist Andrew Sullivan notes in his "Weekly
Dish" column on Friday, Maureen Dowd altered a quote by President
Bush this week to, apparently, advance her own political agenda.
Here's what Dowd wrote: "Busy chasing off Saddam,
the president and vice president had told us that Al Qaeda was spent.
'Al Qaeda is on the run,' President Bush said last week. "That
group of terrorists who attacked our country is slowly but surely
being decimated. . . . They're not a problem anymore.'"
Well, that's not exactly what the President said.
As Sullivan points out, here's the FULL quote:"Al Qaeda is on
the run. That group of terrorists who attacked our country is slowly,
but surely being decimated. Right now, about half of all the top al
Qaeda operatives are either jailed or dead. In either case, they're
not a problem anymore."
The President didn't say al Qaeda wasn't a problem
any longer, only the DEAD ones. Duh. Yet, Dowd conveniently left that
portion of the quote out in order to make the President look bad.
Why does anyone believe anything written in the New York Times anymore
(if they ever really did). NYT has now joined CNN as discredited left-wing
media outlets that make the National Enquirer look like the Wall Street
Journal by comparison.
