There isn't much time and I am deeply concerned regarding the outcome
of this election. Last month I joined the Republican Womens' Club
of Cape Coral Florida. We had a meeting yesterday, a luncheon actually.
Several of the local candidates were there and promised sidewalks
mostly. They spoke of Bush's "Let No Child be Left Behind"
slogan. They are working with this tool to promote the party. I thought
how can a roomfull of women be pondering over sidewalks when Gore
is lying like a rug all over the nation and promising the earth in
his desperate quest for the presidency.
So I called the president of the club and vented my concern. Can't
we can the sidewalks and all this local business and do something
to help get Bush elected. She became defensive. I don't blame her...my
approach was deplorable. So I started to think of what I could do
(besides bring a gallon of iced tea to the next fundraiser). They
are looking for a vice president.
I have never delivered a sentence in front of a group much less run
a meeting but I did work for a few newspapers on Long Island. The
Southampton Press...advertising and account executive for 10 years.
Anyway to the point. The president said what would you do. HOW ABOUT
A MILLION CONCERNED REPUBLICAN WOMEN MARCH. In Washington and all
around the country. At the meeting she said the REPUBLICAN WOMEN ARE
THE LARGEST ORGANIZED GROUP OF WOMEN IN THE USA. This has power...this
should and could be organized. Passionate speeches....exposing that
piece of human debree.Please help me. I have never organized anything
beyond my desk. Thank you for your time.

After putting my thoughts in the mail to you an hour ago I had more
time to think of this issue. My mind was ablaze with how to best approach
a MILLION WOMEN MARCH FOR BUSH & CHANEY. Then I thought of the
"No Child Left Behind" issue. Suppose every woman who marched
in Washington brought either a red, white or blue tee shirt. Or red,
white or blue school supplies all to be deposited in the lawn between
the Washington monument and the Capital to form an enormous flag.
Then brilliant republican (or concerned) women would give speeches.
Peggy Noonan for sure! After the speeches the flag would be dismantled
and donated to needy children.This could be happening simultaneously
all over the country. Each town or county forming a flag for Bush
and Chaney. THE REPUBLICAN WOMEN COMPRISE THE LARGEST ORGANIZED WOMEN'S
GROUP IN THE USA....it is a terrible thing to waist.

I heard a recent estimate of the dollars lost to medicaid fraud -
24 billion - that's BILLION dollars.
What if we put those pesky trial lawyers to work for us and asked
them to pursue those dollars on a contingency basis - let's say a
40% collection fee. The government would collect 60% more than what
we're getting now, so it's essentially no cost to the taxpayer. And
I'll just bet that law firms would line up for a shot at the chance.

An Idea For Campaign Financing....
I believe candidates should be able to receive as much money as they
can get people to give them, as long as it is fully disclosed and
available easily by the american public via a web site. Let the press
tear them apart by keeping dibs on them years after the election.
If a list is easily accessible by all, people will see connections
if money and policies start to flow in a particular direction.
On to An Idea...
TV is the most widely used media form that can educate the american
public about candidates views, plans, and accomplishments.
It's is no wonder why politicians want to use it to get there message
across. But it is very expensive. So enters, needing lots of money
to market their ideas on TV.
One way to lessen the furry to get extraordinary amounts of money,
is to eliminate the need to pay for TV time. Let's create a TV station
dedicated to politicians. Both national and local. Initially CSPAN
could be used as a test channel to get it going, but eventually spin
off into its own cable channel.
Maybe even take on advertising to help defray cost or make money.
(non-political ads only) National TV stations would be required to
run ads promoting the new channel and in turn on the New Channel they
would be able to advertise their station.
All parties would be able to get FREE air time to discuss issues
and their plans. Time slots could be set aside to educate people on
government in general, history, and ways to keep in touch with the
issues.
I'd really like to see our government (democrats and republicans)
stop nit picking and start discussing real solutions to the issue.

him a $5,000,000 de-signing bonus, IF and ONLY IF he promises to take
his "WIFE"(?) and ALGORE with him. I'll bet "HOT SPRINGS"
could figure out some way of using him in their Chamber of Commerce
tourism campaigns.

FOR THE STUDENTS
In high school, there existed, (what would be in adult life), a certain
criminal element, (mainly because they were disinterested in school).
Members of this element had little interest in being educated. They
would disrupt class often and teachers would be continuously dumbing
down lessons to "reach" them.
My idea is to let those students, (who do not want participate in
school), gain employment at local companies at 50% of minimum wage.
This could be run through the district as a "work-study"
program for purposes of keeping "attendence" and other pertinant
records and perhaps interviewing the worker-student--asking questions
which would lead participants to reflect on the value of education
in furthering a career. A portion of their wages would be kept as
a scholarship to be awarded upon completion of high school or GED.
They could come back to school if of appropriate age upon a commitment
to being a responsible student, or attend adult school. The district
would be committed to providing for the remainging years of education.
Some students may study on their own time, pass the GED and use district
funds to attend Community College.
Benefits: Participating employers would receive low cost labor for
menial tasks. Participating students would gain real-life experiences
which may help them gain a perspective of the benefits of education.
Students who remain in school would gain an environment conducive
to learning. Districts would continue to receive part ADA funding
while keeping records of students.
Parents would know that their children are still under the direction
of the district and would become contributors to society instead of
disrupting classes.

My great idea--Solving the prison problem
Why not assign prison dollars to every crime that is committed. Burglary
might cost you $5,000 prison dollars. Then they get paid $1/hour (These
are prison dollars, like Monopoly money). They must pay for their
meals out of this money as well as their A/C, cable bills, gym membership,
medical insurance (all the bills everyone else has to pay INCLUDING
TAXES!!).
They earn this money by working on prison farms, picking up litter,
building gov't office furniture, filling sand bags for FEMA, re-gluing
book binders together from public libraries and schools, etc., etc.,
etc. As a result you could in effect apply semi-market forces to the
prison system (and not subsidize it!!) Remember, if you subsidize
it you automatically get more.
1. They alone would determine the length of their sentence. If they
chose not to work, they could go eat rice and drink water everyday
for free. However, not TV or other luxuries (A/C, Cokes, Cigarettes,
etc.)
2. They could establish a work ethic.
3. They would learn how to pay bills.
4. They would never want to return.

Butter the Local Side of the Bread
We often hear ourselves complain, that our representatives in Washington
DC don't pay enough attention to what we want. They frequently seem
more beholding to their Congressional networks than they are us.
I suggest that all representatives in Washington DC receive all of
their pay and benefits directly from their home states. This would
accomplish the following:
-Upon seeing which side of their bread has the butter, they would
undergo a subtle mind shift. Seeing their own State's crest on their
paycheck would remind them who they really work for. Knowing that
my representative is seeing my State's crest, will remind me that
I am paying the salary. -No more "across the board" salary,
or benefit increases voted on by the intended recipients. These matters
would be left to the citizens of each state to decide. Representatives
would be more exposed to paying consequences, for secumbing to enticements
from outside their home state (special interests, lobbies, campaign
financing, etc.). -Representatives would be more mindful of State's
Rights issues, and less inclined to see the word "Federal"
in front of the word "solution".

Rush, Bush has to get agressive and show he wants to win this election.
He will not win going the route he is going now. Here's what he needs
to turn the tide. You can help but talking about this and sending
a note to GW or Cheney.
I sent a note to their campaign but I'm afraid it goes into this

- Bush needs a lot more non liberal media filtered exposure. He needs
to in person get on hardball, larry king, hanity and colmes, o'reilly,paula
zahn, etc. etc. etc. Call into radio shows. Hold town meetings. Fox
news will carry a town meeting. Give them an exclusive!! Once the
public starts to take interest in this blitz the other liberal stationswill
want to carry him to. It will be like a snowball rolling down ahill,
Gore won't know what hit him .
- Bush needs to attack, dump his ad agency and create ads that create
water cooler talk. Show people sitting down at the dinner table atnight
with their son Johnny asking him what he learned in school today.Johnny
would explain how he learned about sex and how its okay to have sex
with a condom. The parents would look in disgust and then ask did
you read or do any math. Johnny would explain no, we don't do thatanymore
that's old school. Finish with a announcer overlay saying "Wespend
XXX dollars a year on education, XXX goes to the dept. of education
and NONE of it goes to your local school. Do you want more of bureaucrats
teaching your child or do you want to chose your kidseducation"
Its your choice this election.
- Bush also needs to run ads showing what gore is saying and promising
and explain what the real facts are and then ask the audience if they
want a liar for a president. By the middle of October, every republican,
independent and regan democrat should think of al gore as asneak,
distorter and a liar.
- Debate gore anywhere and everywhere. Get out of the pissing contest
on the debate schedule and agree to the 3 commision debates if gore
will do meet the press and larry king. The more the public sees these
twoside by side the more bush will look better. Bush needs exposure
now!!!
- If this still does not work, run infomercials like Perot did. I
know you thought he was nuts, but his infomercials worked in explaining
the deficit. No one was talking about the deficit before Perot. Bush
needs to talk about education, social security and health care, what
his plan means and what gores means. Use simple anologys, charts,
etc. Heres an example and then I'll go.... Show an example of how
someone 25 to 30 putting money into social sec.now will get when they
retire vs. putting the same money in bushes soc.sec. program that
involves private investment. I suspect the return diff. would be huge.
Ask the question, do you trust the gov. or yourself to manage YOUR
money?

What if GWB proposed as part of his tax cut plan the following:
American wage earners work very hard for their money. The federal
government already takes too much from the pay checks of hard working
people. If someone is ambitious and willing to work extra hours then
they should be allowed to keep what they earn. Under the tax cut proposal,
only the regular income would be subject to federal income tax. If
people are willing to work over time then they should be allowed to
keep everything they earn in overtime wages. This would accomplish
several things: A tax cut that the Dems could not attack as directed
at the "wealthy" (what ever that means), The "littel
people" would be able to save for and purchase a house, car,
private school, college, Organized labor would have a hard time staying
in the pocket of the Dems. Most union members are hourly wage earners
and would be wild for this.
I am a public school teacher and as a conservative I have placed
myself in deep cover. I am waging a quiet guerrilla war against liberalism
in public education. I await further orders from you oh leader of
the vast right wing conspiracy.

communIcate it to america
W. has a great tax plan for middle and low income americans, and
clinton vetoed a fair tax bill (marriage penalty)that would help middle
class americans.But if ask the average citizen which candidate or
party cares the most for middle class america a huge majority will
say Gore and dems. I have the solution to this age old problem !!!
The RNC simply needs to produce dramatization adds and comercials
that show the intended outcome of sound conservative legislation.
Ex . A bricklayer and a cab driver close to retirement age are having
lunch( out of a box ) and the dialog goes like this ,,,,,,you know
when i sell the house next year and me and Mable move south I going
to owe 20,000 in capital gains tax, can you believe it you work all
your life pay taxes every year and now a big chunk of our nest egg
goes to a capital gains tax? cabbie says yea every time the someone
tries to cut that tax

What if GWB proposed the following as part of his tax cut package.
The money that workers earn by working overtime will be exempt from
federal income tax. This would accomplish several things:
1. A tax cut that the dems could not attack as targeted at the
wealthy (whatever that means)
2. The little people could, if they chose to work a bit extra have
a lot more income to spend as they determined (buy a home, a car,
private school & college for their children, innvest for retirement)
3. Take organized labor out of the pocket of the dems; (union members
would be wild for this)
4. Stop this call every election year by the dems for an insignificant
increase in the minimum wage.
I am a teacher in a public school and as a conservative I have placed

My suggestion for the postal system is to eliminate bulk rate mail,
charge 1st class rates for all mail. The benefits derived: 1. Eliminates
junk mail which most people don't want.
2. Increase efficiency of post office.
3. Improve bottom line for post office.

There is something the U.S. and other developed countries could do
that would drastically reduce the amount of petroleum products we
import.
Imagine if you could drive across town without stopping for red lights.
Try to imagine how much gasoline and diesel fuel is consumed at red
lights in one day in the U.S. alone. Try to imagine how much extra
wear is done to vehicle parts such as brakes, transmissions, etc.
due to having to stop at red lights.
The solution is obvious and we have the technology to do it. Synchronization
of traffic lights is the answer! With synchronized traffic lights,
you would drive along at or near the speed limit and the lights would
change to green ahead of you as you approach them. This has been done
to some extent already in at least one small city. If you have ever
driven through Wichita Falls, Texas on Highway 287, you have seen
it in action. It works like a charm!
It would require a massive investment in technology, but it is possible
to do. The savings in fuel, time, and vehicle repairs would be immense!
Rush, please do what you can to get the ball rolling on this. It is
long overdue.
