The Drug War - RushOnline.com

Is anybody out there? Do you realize that a Communist Revolutionary Army is gaining power in Columbia? Can't you see why? It's the stupid War on Drugs! They are raking in more money than the legitimate government (maybe). We are shooting ourselves in the foot with 12ga 00 buckshot by continuing this insane Drug Prohibition. How many billions are the Red Chinese pulling in from the heroin trade? How much of it is Bill Clinton getting? How much of it is being spread around to politicians who continue to support prohibition?

Talk about a failed government program! If this thing works any better we will all be on drugs by the year 2000. And now we are having our Right to Bear Arms threatened over it! The drug related violence, which is just the drug gangs fighting over territory, is the best excuse for gun control the Liberals ever had.

Are the children being protected? Hell no! Because illegal drug dealers don't have any reason to ask for ID's, they will sell to whoever has the money and boy are they ever. It's easier for kids to by heroin than it is for them to buy beer! It's easier for them to get drugs in school than it is for them to get an education!

WAKE UP! We are losing our privacy rights at a high rate of speed. How much power will law enforcement require to succeed? Total? Are we headed for a police state just to stop dippy drugheads from harming themselves? Bill certainly hopes so.

Drug War

Our president, who never inhaled, and our vice president who has said that "youthful experimentation" was his reason for trying drugs don't seem to mind that many youthful experimenters are carrying records and being jailed at alarming rates because of their drug war. It is very apparent that they don't mind changing laws to violate and harrass youthful experimenters. When I was growing up you basically had to be caught with it on you, now you only have to be in the vicinity or unknowingly be with someone who has some on them for you to be arrested to. It is a crying shame and very hypocrital.

PS Thanks for being a thinking person and seeing the farce of it all.

Drug War

Make it legal and tax the @@$#$% out of it. This would take the gangsters out of the picture just like the end of prohibition did for alcohol. I agree totally with Wlliam Buckley's stance on legalization.

As long as the American people want drugs, someone will supply them no matter how much money we waiste with this totally inept war on drugs.

Why not tax the drugs like tobacco and use the money for treatment centers?

Drug legalization in the Ideas room under Debate Topics

RL in RC obviously has difficulty with the concept that "all men are created equal." He seems to see drug users as pests who should be killed off if they don't come to their senses and kick the habit. Having not been a drug user or had a close friend or relative who has used addictive substances, I don't think he fully grasps the fact that kicking a habit is not something you just do one afternoon.

Furthermore, I'm suprised this person can even consider calling himself a conservative, since he seems to display no moral values whatsoever, and he advocates even more government involvement in people's lives. I also would like to see his reaction when his young teen, under peer-pressure, or just looking for an ill-advised thrill (think a new breed of Russian Roulette), gets himself killed. Aren't there enough dangers to the future of America without adding more risks to lives of our young people?

Basically, I think this guy is off his rocker, but then again, I'm just a young college student, so chalk it up to my idealism in thinking that people of all classes and fortunes deserve to be treated as human beings, and not dogs to be "put to sleep."

The Facts

Please read "The emperor wears no clothes" by Jack Herer, which will allow you to start telling the truth about marijuana. The drug war is creating our current youth gang problem. (Did we learn anything from the prohibition years?)... Did you know the original draft of the constitution was written on hemp AND the parachute that saved George Bush in W.W.II was as well. So smoke a joint , for many doctors agree it is much safer than alcohol... or even bacon. cough cough.

PS. Don't play poker with "slick Willy" (Clinton)... You knew he was a liar when we elected him.

War On Drugs

I certainly agree the war on drugs is losing. Why? I`ve seen it happen. Because the feds catch someone red-handed making and selling drugs, and instead of sending them to prison for long times, they cut deals with them, allowing these same people (in a short time) to be back out on the streets doing business as usual. Then the druggies they`ve caught tell the feds anything on anyone (they`ll lie on their own mothers to get out), and the feds go get some poor smoch and throw them in prison for 10-LIFE (mandatory minimum sentence), on conspiracy hear-say evidence. Hear-say is mere gossip, but due to the law INNOCENT people are being abused by this, so the real druggies can go free and the feds look like their doing one hell of a job.

This is nothing but communism to me. Anyone who gets mad at you can get even real fast if they want to call the feds in. America, don`t say the feds wouldn`t do that, you`d better remember "RUBY RIDGE". Let`s put an end to this deal making, if you`re caught do the time yourself, but don`t put someone in prison for 10-LIFE(MMS) who doesn`t have drugs in their posession, or system, or caught selling or making, just because someone is making a deal for lesser sentence. Crime should be punished, but I also believe PUNISHMENT SHOULD FIT THE CRIME. Most KILLERS, RAPISTS, and CHILD MOLESTERS don`t do (MMS), give me a break

America. Drugs are bad, but when Americans hear the word drug case, they`re so paranoid they automatically assume guilty, well so does the so-called justice system. You go to trial over drugs, when you walk in that court room, reasonable doubt doesn`t exit, innocent till proven guilty is a thing of the past.

I`m not saying everyone isn`t guilty, but they`re a lot of innocent people imprisoned over this ignorance. Read Eric Sterlings "SNITCH".

Having worked as a narcotics detective for seven years in Indianapolis, four years spent on the drug interdiction task force, I believe I am qualified to address this subject. First of all, one of the main problems is political speech. The use of a person's race in accumulating facts and evidence in the attempt to build a case is nothing more than good detective work.

Unfortunately, trial lawyers and liberal political correctness gurus have perverted the correct application of investigative techniques in an attempt to thwart the efforts of professional police investigators to deal with the criminal drug problems of our society.

Let me give the following scenario. We worked with informants over long periods of time to develop necessary intelligence in combating drug dealers. Through that intelligence, our own experience, and common sense, we have learned many types of drugs are controlled by certain groups of people in certain areas more so than others. For example, Indianapolis crack cocaine was mostly controlled by young black males when I was working with narcotics. By the same token, crank was controlled mostly by biker gangs, and much of the marijuana was being brought in over the mexican border by Mexicans.

Should we throw out that intelligence simply out of fear of offending minority groups, our should we perform our moral obligation, and use that information to the best of our ability?

Indianapolis was behind most major cities in developing a crack problem. But when it came, most of our experience and training showed it being brought into the community by black gangs, some of them from the LA California area. We also learned it was being brought in by plane on red eye flights.

Many of the gang members had learned that possession of 3 grams or more of cocaine in Indiana constitutes a Class A felony, carrying a non-suspendable 20 yr. sentence! We learned through under cover experience and well developed informant information that many of the dealers didn't want to take the risk of getting caught with large quantities of cocaine and end up becoming residents of the State for the next twenty years, so they would use mules(persons whose only job was to carry the cocaine in bags or on their person), and the young black female was usually the person of choice, many of them single mothers, desperate for money.

So we began working the red eye flights out of CA looking for characteristics of drug couriers, i.e., only a small carry on bag, flying alone, one way ticket, nervousness in getting off plane, usually not too well dressed, and in this case, being a black female!

This was not racism on our part, only the properly applied technique of intelligence developed. I'm sorry if it offends people, however we would be fools not to use that information. We must not back away from truth. Bad people will use whatever tool they can to further their criminal activity, and if shouting racism works, they will be the first to do it. And in all instances, I may add, we never stopped people. We would simply approach them and ask permission to speak with them to further develop or dispell our suspicions with the least degree of intrusiveness as possible. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Drugs

The drug problem is no problem for for the goverments of the world.. This is the way they want it...the world does not need the type of person that uses drugs, they are not worth the effort-----they should be allowed to go into any drug store and get all they want for free---no hospital should be allowed to treat any of them for anything---as soon as they see that we want them to O.D. and die they will not use any more. Anybody should be able to see this is a fact.

YES, WE CAN WIN THE WAR ON DRUGS!

Do you know that we have an amazing new kind of technology that can actually WIN the war on drugs? The only thing that's keeping us from winning this war is the political cowardice of the lily-livered creeps in Washington, DC!

FACT: Three of the worst drugs come from plants, namely cocaine (from the coca plant), heroin (from the opium poppy) and marijuana (from the notorious pot plant).
FACT: Genetic engineers are already making deadly new fungus diseases, called bioherbicides, that can exterminate these evil drug plants and thus wipe out the drugs that come from these plants! YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME? Go to www.usda.gov and do a USDA web search for "narcotic plants." You'll be astonished at what you see! This amazing new bioherbicide technology could put the drug lords out of business for good, and the liberal drug advocates are already very, very scared. Go to Yahoo or Snap and search the topic "fungus drug war" to read the frantic screams of rage from degenerate druggies who are scared that their precious pot plants will be wiped out by a newly-developed fungus disease that could soon be field-tested in the State of Florida.

But you won't read very much about bioherbicides in your dear old daily newspaper. WHY? Because the liberal media doesn't want YOU, the American public, to realize that the war on drugs could be won and our children could be saved from crack and heroin--IF our cowardly politicians had the guts to do it! If you want to read a conservative's viewpoint about winning the war on drugs with genetic engineering, get hold of Herbert Highstone's new novel AT ANY PRICE (from www.buybooksontheweb.com). This is a hard-hitting book that makes the liberals howl with rage because it exposes the cowardice, corruption, and connivance that's keeping us from winning the war on drugs and saving our precious American kids!

The War On Drugs - It's time to declare peace in the war on drugs, and go home. Every day in the Spokane paper, another sex offender is turned loose in Washington State because the prisons are full of drug offenders!

The DEA states that its Number One priority in Seattle is to bust pot growers and users, while on the streets of downtown Seattle, HEROIN AND COCAINE ARE SOLD OPENLY TO ANYONE WITH MONEY! HOW IS THIS MORONIC USE OF FED RESOURCES JUSTIFIED? PROTECTING CHILDREN FROM POT, WHILE HEROIN AND COCAINE ARE AVAILABLE TO THEM IS PROTECTING THEM?

Fire the Drug Czar, close his office, disband the DEA, let the free market rule. No profits, no drug wars, no drug outlaws, no cocaine millionaires, and spend all the enforcement money on education and treatment. There I've solved the drug problem, without a big office in D.C, millions of taxpayer dollars, and countless freedom stealing bureaucratic regulators and enforcers.

Lets spend our law enforcement money on keeping murderers, rapists, and robbers off our streets and in prison where they belong.

War on Drug

I want to tell people about a letter I received from my congressman, in response to my opposition to the DEA ban on hemp. Now in case you don't know, you can't smoke hemp. True, it is a cannabis plant, but it does not have high levels of THC like the pot people smoke. It is good for industrial uses only, primarily textiles, food additives and cosmetics.

Anyway, here's the letter from my congressman, JD Hayworth of Arizona.

The DEA works hard to reduce the sale and use of illegal drugs in our country and I support their efforts. The regulation of tetrahydrocannabinols (THC) is an important step towards this goal. Federal law prohibits human consumption and possession of THC. Hemp can not be produced without growing marijuana, which in turn produces high levels of THC.

What does this have to do with the drug war? I think it shows the deliberate misinformation campaign being waged by the folks at the DEA. I think it shows how easily our elected representatives can be misled by a government agency. And I think it raises the question, if they will lie about hemp, what else are they purposely lying about? Maybe ...maybe pot is not so harmful after all. Maybe there are valid medicinal uses for it. Maybe the DEA and others are lying to us. Ya think?

And maybe JD Hayworth and other supporters of the prohibition on marijuana are ignorant fools who should not be reelected.

Michael
