Cell Phones - RushOnline.com
When I was a teenager I started operating a bulldozer. I kept one
hand on the steering stick and the other on the blade control.
When I was in the Army, (Viet Nam Vet), I drove trucks requiring
one hand on the steering wheel and the other was shifting.
After service, I drove semi's and yet the same thing, left hand
on the steering, right hand shifting and using the cb.
A few years ago, I got my pilots license and guess what? My instructors
would never allow me to place both hands on the yoke or stick.
Wow! What about the race car driver that dares to shift his car
at 160 mph?
I'm wondering if the folks pushing for hands free operation of cell
phones, should be retested for their own ability to even drive?

Cell Phones
I'm wondering why no one ever complained about hand held CBs. They
are no different than cell phones. Maybe we should ban all CBs also.
I wonder how the truckers would like that.

February 2001 Automotive Engineering International has a good article
titled "Solving the driver distraction dilemma"
There are two graphs that shows danger and occurrence. There is
a quote " How people are able to process information is just
something that's not well understood," he said." As we
move forward with voice technology, we're putting a lot more emphasis
on hands on the wheel, eyes on the road.' But where's the driver's
mind? I don't think anybody understands right now."
The top o0n occurrence and danger are:
1. reading a magazine / 2. not stopping at a stop sign / 3. not
stopping at a stop light
4. Driving wrong way on a one way street.
The next group includes: * talking on a cell phone/ * not giving
the right of way
* browsing a map / * writing down notes
CAUTION - This is an engineering study and will not
interest the liberals.

Distractive Driving
New York State thinks hand-held phones are distractive! Far more
distracting is driving in a car with infants or preschoolers. Think
theywill make a law about that?

Cell phone legislation
As a life long Republican you have signed away my vote - by allowing
another government intrusion on personal freedom. If you spend like
a Democrat talk like a democrat, sign legislation like a Democrat,
then you will have to get your votes and money from Democrats. Good
Luck

Cell Phone
A man from Ozona Texas, working in the oilfield hit a cattle guard
in his truck and sent one of the pipes thru his truck, into his
body and out into the bed of the truck. Where would he be now if
he had not had his cell phone to call an ambulance he is alive because
of a cell phone. I heard this on the news today Kcrs 550 Midland,
Texas.

can walk and chew gum simultaneously.

Soccer Mom's and Cell Phones
Another dumb law will be banning hand-held cell phones in cars.
It's not the hand you have to worry about. It's the brain. It's
a fact. The human being cannot. I repeat, cannot talk and drive
effectively at the same time.
Proof: Talking is left brained. Driving a car is right brained.
Typing is right brained as is playing the piano or even singing.
It's a fact that you can play the piano and sing at the exact same
time. But you cannot talk and type at the same time. Don't believe
me. Try it sometime.
Case closed. Next case.
But, I can't stand soccer mom's and their damned SUVs while they're
monopolizing the conversation on their cell phones to their girl
friends while running over a curb by mistake.
Here in California we legislate everything we can to death. It's
now a felony to leave your child in a car for more than one minute
- 60 seconds. I don't doubt that legislating cell phones will be
next by the do-gooder connection of Boxer/Feinstein with bandwagon
jumpers like Hillary2004. (I couldn't help myself when it comes
to Hillary2004. She desperately needs harassing.)
Wolfen - A left-winger's worst nightmare.

Cell Phone Fatality
Yesterday, during a station break of your show, the news stated,
'a gentleman was trying to do the right thing by not talking and
driving, so he pulled off to the side of the road ONLY to have a
truck loose control and crash into his car. Killing him.
He would have been better off driving.
