I'm a charter subscriber to your
newsletter and grateful for your voice, crying in the wilderness
of the liberal media. I have never felt more strongly about
any of your statements than I do about your recent article,
"The Era of Apathy."
You seem to be blaming the public
for not doing anything about the corruption in the White House
and in the media. What can we do? If we are angry about it,
who will report it. (Who indeed, if you don't?) If we write
letters, who will read them, and to what effect? If we vote
Republican (and even elect a Republican congress) what will
our elected representatives do about Bill's crimes? (Incidently,
I think Dole and Kemp lost precisely because they didn't do
or say anything about Bill's crimes. They had the podium.
They were in the spotlight. Why didn't they at least mention
the fact the Bill is an accused felon, sexual harasser, adulterer
and liar? Would you vote for someone so obviously without
conviction as to be too polite to mention these accusations?
Talk about elitism; we all wondered who's side they were really
on.) Now we have a Republican Congress, and even THEY won't
do anything about it. This is the first time I've felt discouraged;
now that we have one whole branch of the Federal Government
under Republican (at least marginally conservative) leadership
and even they won't do anything to turn this situation around.
And then YOU blame US.
Or maybe you are falling for
the media's habit of telling us what we think and how we feel.
Just because the media are saying, "Bill's no different
from everybody else," and "Nobody really cares,"
that doesn't mean any thinking citizen agrees, or even that
the majority of Americans believe it. The media is under the
control of atheists and liars; that's bad enough, but they
are self righteous about it. They mix opinion with news, they
spin everything, they state their opinions as fact and they
claim piously that all the rest of us agree with them. I stopped
paying very much attention to the media years ago because
they don't represent me and I won't spend one dime that will
end up in their coffers, but the result is that I'm often
taken by surprise when I hear how far they have come and how
much success they are having in their effort to mold and control
public perception. If there is apathy in America, it was spawned
by the liberal press; but I don't think it runs as wide or
as deep as they (or you) say it does. I don't believe them
when they say that nobody cares. And I don't think for a moment
that a few misguided callers to your show, defending Bill
and parroting the media line, represent how the rest of us
feel.
I don't think we're indifferent;
I think we're discouraged. I think most of us are feeling
disheartened about the future of America. I think most of
us are wondering if we can ever wrest control of our country
away from these people who stand only for self-service, irresponsibility,
socialism, atheism and the pursuit of pleasure at the cost
of happiness. I think most of us wonder if the TRUTH will
ever again be common knowledge, if our children or our children's
children will even know who the Founding Fathers were, know
that they were inspired of God to create the greatest civilization
in the history of the world, know that it was the God of Abraham
who inspired them and that it was upon His laws that our laws
were once based.
I still hope we will win. I still
think that God is on our side. I hope you will not lose hope
or blame honest Americans for what the liberals and media
have done. Edmund Burke said that evil prevails when good
men do nothing.
Someone else said that if you
don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. I don't
think that many of us are fooled. I think that most of us
are wondering what more we can do, where else (besides our
homes and our own businesses) we can make a stand. Who will
listen, and who in power will act?

Reasons for the Apathy
Guys and gals,
Its so simple, for the most part.
It's because the American people get their instructions from
the media. If the media doesn't tell them that it's important...they
don't think it's important. If the media tells them that the
"flea sex study" is important, many will think it's
important. Stupid as it sounds, it's probably true.
The reason so many people vote
Democrat is because the media and other historically ignorant
people have repeatedly and erroneously called this nation
a democracy. IT IS NOT A DEMOCRACY, IT IS A CONSTITUTIONAL
REPUBLIC.
THE CONSTITUTION GUARANTEES A
REPUBLICAN FORM OF GOVERNMENT... ONLY!

Era of Apathy
It isn't that Americans are apathetic.
It is that the politicians have gained greater control of
the system. Just as businessmen seek to stabilize their businesses,
so the Democratic politicians sought to stabilize their's.
The Republicans upset this by winning the majority, but are
attempting to use the same tactics.
It isn't malevolence, it is simply
their desire to reliably forecast their own markets. When
the American people stop viewing the politicians as leaders
and start viewing them for what they are, service providers,
maybe we can reclaim our government. The role of "Leader"
is not suitable for our system because it gives rise to such
stupidity as redistribution of wealth, overtaxation, drug
prohibition and other abuses of power. WE DON'T NEED TO BE
CONTROLLED! We need to have our freedom defended and our infrastructure
maintained, THAT'S ALL.

Apathy?, not really!!
I know that this may sound weird.
In reality most Americans are like me. We are so busy working
long and hard hours to pay the taxes, have the meager conveniences
that life provides us and raising a decent family unity. When
we get home we don't want to deal with the Clintons of this
world. This is a truth. I deal with the enemies of moral values,
(this is meant to be good vs bad), when elections come by.
It is then that I exercise my constitutional right to vote.
Always hoping that many Americans with the same ideas, will
do as I do.
One of the most serious problems
that I see as a Republican is that we do not not have solidarity
and union with our party and their leaders. The "Demoncrats"
as I called them only have values when it affects their livelyhood
and their morals are only convenietly displayed when it provides
them an opportunity to look good in front of the world; however,
one thing remains true with them: THEY WILL STAND BEHIND THEIR
CANDIDATES EVEN WHEN THEY LIE. This is the only way that they
get their people elected and then they can impose their agenda
by majority vote or block any other agenda that is contrary
to their beliefs. When I think of the way they blocked all
the congressional hearings and defended/provided answers to
the witnesses by way of hints as how to answer, I get sick!!
I am a firm believer that what goes around, comes around.
Clinton and his hordes of followers
will receive the due punishment that only GOD can dish out.
Meanwhile, I will continue to support my party and their candidates.
If I elect a bad candidate then in the next election I will
exercise my vote and elect a better one.

These days--and in this political
climate--treason is just another word to most people. I would
venture to guess that over 50% of U.S. population do not believe
or even care that treason is an offense, by which any citizen
and/or those holding office can be prosecuted for and jailed.
This society, can now claim the dubious distinction of being
and thinking anything goes! And if you get caught, prison
time is a badge of honor. Websters Collegiate Dictionary defines
the meaning of treason as Treason: The betrayal of a trust:
2)the offense of attempting by over acts to overthrow the
government of the state to which the offender owes allegiance---
Now since our draft doger
in chief has problems of defining IS, he would probably have
problems with the word overt, and say that he is not guilty
because it was not overt. However, there is another word that
fits this type of behavior--SUBVERSION, SUBVERTING, AND GOING
UNDERGROUND TO DO THE DIRTY DEEDS.
WEBSTERS Collegiate Dictionary
defines SUBVERSION as follows: 1) a systematic attempt to
overthrow or undermine a government or political system by
persons working secretly within the country involved SUBVERT:
1)to overturn or overthrow from the foundation, 2)to pervert
or corrupt by an undermining of morals, allegiance or faith.
The foregoing seems to be the motto of the far left, and most
Demos.

Why Voters are Disinterested!
Voters know their vote is watered
down by the electorial college!
Let's make this election interesting;
run an online popular vote. Fix it so you could only vote
once. Designate a week for the online election so everyone
would have enough time to get online and vote. Run it along
with the regular election and compare the outcome!
I bet it would generate more
interest than 'Who wants to be a Millionaire'.

Apathy
I think the main reason Americans
are apathetic about everything is because they don't know
what's going on. Not most of them, anyway. Most of us are
products of a school system that indoctrinated us to a kind
of quasi-Marxism, American-style. That indoctrination is reinforced
everyday by the media. There is nothing to counteract it,
as there would be if religion played more than a lip service
role in their lives.
Weaned on situational ethics
and humanistic materialism, and undereducated in economics
and how the political system was set up to work in this country,
they see nothing wrong with more and more of their money being
taken from them in taxes to support yet another "needy"
group, or their rights being frittered away in the name of
one cause or another. You would be amazed at just how ignorant
most people, even college students!, are of how the economy
works! The churches bear at least an equal share of the blame
in this ignorance; they are supposed to be the beacon for
men, but instead they hide behind the separation of church
and state to safeguard their tax exemptions (which they are
eventually going to lose, anyway) while keeping their mouths
shut to their people about what's happening in the United
States! Most Americans, sadly to say, would rather have a
full belly and bank account than be free.

apethetic realism / politically
correct
Till now I sit and wait,
wondering how to live the date.
Not knowing where my path will lead,
or whose advice I should heed.
I often feel as though, I am caught in a whirlwind, and can
feel it blow. The days and moments ..rush.. by in a blur,
without hearing even one kind word.
I distress over the direction that the world has taken, knowing
that for our transgression, a life was taken. We try to believe
that we will find our way, but the only way is still today,
one and the same.
I am truly convinced that there is a way back from the chasm
of immorality and political correctness that we have allowed
to advance in our society. Ever heard the phrase "the
truth hurts"? Let us examine it for a moment. A conscience
is a gift that lets us know that the things we do are wrong.
Guilt is a necessary associate of the conscience, as it is
the manifestation of your conscience on your soul. The object
of political correctness is to allow someone to go outside
the allowable limits of a civilized society and not be subject
to the ridicule that would cause guilt, thereby releasing
you of your conscience.
I am not politically correct.
I have no intention of standing by and watching as the world
turns its' back on every shred of backbone and morality that
is necessary for the world to continue.
Imagine if you can a very simple
world. One in which an apple is an apple, a homosexual is
a homosexual, and a tangelo is a fruit that has been crossbred.
In a world of definite absolutes, there are definite rights
and wrongs. There are definite aberrations of a plan, a plan
for civilization that is so simple we can not see the intertwinings,
yet so complex we can not fathom the intricacies.
Imagine what it would take for
a civilization to progress. Not only technologically, but
spiritually, monetarily, and in every other method of measurement
you could establish for a society to be weighed against. What
rules and laws would be necessary to govern the masses and
ensure prosperity? If you were wise enough to govern a world,
what laws would you give it?
What human conditions will eventually
lead to the fall of morality and the ability to be a self
governed people? What rules of the basic human spirit have
we recently decided are unnecessary in government? Devotion,
honesty, integrity, morality, reliability, honor. Are any
of these present in our government right now? A better question
would be: Are any of these present in our country or citizens?
If so, isn't it time to demand it from our leaders, or replace
them with people of whom these basic characteristics are part
of.
Abe Lincoln said that the doctrine
of the schoolhouse in one generation will be the policy of
the government in the next. I agree. I feel like I am trapped
in a country that feels no obligation to its citizens, and
is being ran by a dictatorship of bureaucracy. We are coming
frighteningly close to socialism, and if left on our current
path soon the people will be unable to regain the government
that was established for the people, of the people, and by
the people.
Long live the campaign for the advancement of truth, and the
fight for liberty.
Semper Fidelis,
Andrew

Maybe the American people are
apathetic because all the issues that face them in the dawn
of the twentieth century (e.g. social security, medicare,
education) are incredibly, incredibly boring. These issues
keep being recycled over and over again at every election,
generating circular arguments on both sides. Who wouldn't
get tired of listening to politicans, reporters, and talk
show hosts banter back and forth about them?
