LIBERATING IRAQ - THIS IS PAGE 3

The question "Why didn't we take care of Sadam when we had a chance the first time?" is still around.

I remember the following - and wonder at its relevance with respect to current events. If I remember correctly, prior to the land phase of Desert Storm there was some discussion about the exact make-up of the invasion force and the path which it would take. Initially France indicated that it would not participate in any land force that entered Iraq. France indicated that it would move only into Kuwait as authorized by UN resolutions. After coalition discussions -- to which we are not privy to - France agreed to participate in the invasion force and to move into Iraq. Please note the series of maps at http:// www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/gulf/maps/7.html and http://www.dean.usma.edu/history/dhistorymaps/WC1958Pages/wc19581-9l.htm

Note that the unit on the north flank of the coalition land force is the 6th French Light Armored Division - from 25 February (attack position) to 28 February (cease-fire position). The answer to the initial question seems to be that coalition forces would have had to move through -- and possibly attack through -- the 6th French to move north to Baghdad. It seems reasonable to assume that the 6th French had not only the mission of protecting the coalition's northern flank -- but also -- and maybe more importantly -- protecting Iraq and Sadam's regime from the coalition land force.

Now the questions may well be, How long has France held the belief that it i s a protector for Iraq? Why has France been protecting Sadam Hussein? Is France's current objective, in the U.N., to continue to protect Sadam Hussein? If so, how long and to what extent will France continue to protect Sadam Hussein? Will France have the courage of their alleged convictions and send military units to Iraq to help defend a gainst "unwarranted military aggression" from US led Coalition of the Willing?

I am a new listener to rush and i want to say. i do en joy your program. My son was in desert storm and when he returned (than k God) he said we would go back and finish this job that the first Bush did not finish. It surely is coming true. Yes, i am a democrat, but i don't back anyone in particular.I back who i like. But now that we are getting ready for another war with sickdam(saddam), I pray we do it fast and right. I am proud of our men and women who serve. I also remind people that say we should leave him alone that 9/11 shows we cannot leave anyone alone again .. and that our service men and women are fighting for the right to sit here at our job and complain about the government. Thank you and my son says you will change me to a republican. (LOL) Kathleen

Severe Earthquake reported in France - Unknown author

Today it was reported that severe earthquakes have occurred in 10 different locations in France. The severity was measured in excess of 9.8 on the Richter Scale. The cause was the 56,681 dead American soldiers buried in French soil rolling over in their graves. According to the American Battle Monuments. Commission there are 26,255 Yankee dead from World War I buried in 4 cemeteries in France. There are 30,426 American dead from World War II buried in 6 cemeteries in France.

These 56,681 brave American heroes died in their youth to liberate a country which is guilty of shameful unspeakable behavior in the 21st century. May the United States of America never forget their sacrifice as we find ways to forcefully deal with the God-forsaken unappreciative, forgetful country of France!

We should also note that we pay Millions of dollars on RENT for these cemeteries plus the cost of Maintenance, let us remove them (our military dead) and give their damn land back to them.

Whenever Clinton speaks, do you know why he keeps tripping over himself?

He never learned to pull-up his pants.

---------------------------------

Our older son is in Kuwait and has been there since last October. He is supposed to come home April 17. When war breaks out they already have their assignment in Iraqi.

He has been over in Kuwait building facilities for the troops. For the past week or two this National Guard Unit has been pulling guard duty for the troops in the camp along with guarding the troops while they look
for and explode land mines.

As much as his wife and my wife and I would like him come home next month, we stand behind his commitment to protect this country and we support him, in prayer and other support, and all the troops over there. We hope President Bush will get on with the war. We do not need more of Sadam!!!

Years ago I worked in Saudi Arabia and studied them while there, so I understand the Islamic mind a little. They do want to control the world. Fortunately, if you have read the Bible, epically the book of
Revelation, you already know the end.

My wife and I strongly support President Bush and the war to come. Lets go and get it over with.

David

Rush, we have listened to you for many years and love your program. You are right on! Our former "impeached president (clinton) should "shut up!!!!!" At least Pres. Bush isnt going to war to cover his own butt over some intern. Also, we agree that we are prolonging this effort in Iraq too long, and, we too, are getting frustrated over this constant delay for votes we dont need. LETS ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!

Opinion of novelist Tom Robbins, Seattle Week

"Quite probably the worst thing about the inevitable and totally unjustifiable war with Iraq is that there’s no chance the U.S. might lose it. America is a young country, and intellectually, emotionally, and physically, it has been exhibiting all the characteristics of an adolescent bully, a pubescent punk who’s too big for his britches and too strong for his age. Someday, perhaps, we may growout of our mindless, pimple-faced arrogance, but in the meantime, it might do us a ton of good to have our butts kicked. Unfortunately, like most of the targets we pick on, Iraq is much too weak to give us the thrashing our
continuously overbearing behavior deserves, while Saddam is even less deserving of victory than Bush." - novelist Tom Robbins, Seattle Week

The answer to the question "What right does another nation have to go into a sovereign nation and interfere?"

Bring it down to simplest terms...

You know your neighbor is abusing his wife and children. He is beating them sexually abusing them and causing them to become ill by denying them food and medical attention. You know this is true and you have seen the bruises. Do you take the steps necessary to stop him? Do you worry about invading his "kingdom"? Do you do whatever it takes to protect his wife and children?

You must do whatever it takes to protect that man's wife and children even though they have not asked for help and he certainly doesn't want your interference. It may become worse for the wife and children for a time and he may kill them but even that is not a justification for inaction. You must stop the violence in that man's house or you share his guilt.

Iraq Date: Wed, Mar 12 2003

You've got to be kidding me. I just heard that 140 some U.S. cities have passed resolutions against going to war with Iraq. What business do city governments have passing resolutions concerning national security?

This is insane. I now truly understand why Presidents have the power to go to war without getting the nod from anyone! I wish President Bush had just done it without consulting anyone (except for a few elected officials such as the House & Senate leaders). If he had, I think 60-75% of the American people would now be supporting U.S. policy and very likely other nations would have followed suit. Now it is truly muddy water & an absolutely no win situation for our country.

If we back down, we will be weakened as a country and our word means nothing. If we go forward, we live up to what Sadam Husein has said all along--that nothing Iraq does will keep the U.S. from going to war with him. Either way the clear winner will be our worst nightmare, Sadam Husein. How crazy is that? He turn out to be a martyr and we turn out to be the bad guys!!! (At least that's the way the Hollywood peacenics & the anti-war nations will view it.)

I pray we go and the sooner the better. If we don't do it now, we'll be back in this same mess five years from now. God bless our troops and God bless America.

POLL: GET ON WITH IT
NY Post ^ | March 16, 2003 | Dick Morris - To read entire article, go to http://www.nypost.com/postopinion/opedcolumnists/70834.htm

March 16, 2003 -- SUPPORT for military action to disarm Iraq and remove Saddam Hussein from power is higher than it has been in the past six months, but Americans are getting antsy about the endless diplomatic delays. The latest FoxNews/Opinion Dynamics survey showed that 71 percent support invading Iraq - with a new high of 54 percent strongly supporting it - but Americans want it done now.

Asked if it is "time to get it over with in Iraq," 71 percent now say yes, up from 56 percent last month. This reflects the wear and tear of uncertainty - the on-again, off-again diplomatic cycle in which we hang on every word out of Angola or Chile, and tremble at every verbal blast from Paris. By 74 percent to 21 percent, Americans now say the United States, not the United Nations, should make the final call on what action to take against Iraq - and they don't like the delay.

Americans realize an attack on Iraq will increase the chances of terror attacks at home. Some 67 percent feel an invasion of Iraq will raise the chances of terrorist attacks here - but 58 percent say that doing nothing will also make terrorist attacks more likely. Damned if we do. Damned if we don't.

But Sen. Hillary Clinton is on the wrong track in criticizing President Bush for inadequate steps to prevent terror attacks at home. Two-thirds of Americans say the federal government "is doing everything it can to prevent terrorist activity in the U.S." That's up from just over half the public a year ago - but two-thirds also believe that "homicide and suicide bombings similar to those in the Middle East will start happening in the U.S.."

If you go to Clint Black's website- http://www.clintblack.com/ You can download this song for free. I am putting the lyrics on here. Another song like Darryl Worley-Brad:

"I RAQ AND I ROLL"

YOU CAN WAVE YOUR SIGNS IN PROTEST, AGAINST AMERICA TAKING STANDS

THE STANDS AMERICA'S TAKEN, ARE THE REASON THAT YOU CAN

IF EVERYONE WOULD GO FOR PEACE, THERE'D BE NO NEED FOR WAR BUT WE CAN'T IGNORE THE DEVIL
HE'LL KEEP COMING BACK FOR MORE

SOME SEE THIS IN BLACK AND WHITE, OTHERS ONLY GRAY
BUT WE'RE NOT BEGGING FOR A FIGHT, NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY

WE'VE GOT THE RESOLUTION,THAT SHOULD PUT 'EM ALL TO SHAME
BUT IT'S A DIFFERENT KIND OF DEADLINE, WHEN I'M CALLED IN THE GAME

CHORUS
I RAQ, I RACK'EM UP AND I ROLL, I'M BACK AND I'M A HIGH TECH GI JOE
I PRAY FOR PEACE AND PREPARE FOR WAR
AND I NEVER WILL FORGET, THERE'S NO PRICE TOO HIGH FOR FREEDOM
SO BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU TREAD

THE TERROR ISN'T MAN TO MAN, THEY CAN BE NO MORE THAN COWARDS
IF THEY WON'T SHOW US THEIR WEAPONS, WE MIGHT HAVE TO SHOW THEM OURS

IT MIGHT BE A SMART BOMB, THEY FIND STUPID PEOPLE TOO
IF YOU STAND WITH THE LIKES OF SADDAM, ONE JUST MIIGHT FIND YOU

CHORUS II
I ROCK, I RACK'EM UP AND I ROLL, I'M BACK AND I'M A HIGH TECH GI JOE
I GOT INFRARED, GPS AND GOOD OLD FASHIONED LEAD
NO PRICE TOO HIGH FOR FREEDOM, BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU TREAD

BRIDGE
NOW YOU CAN COME ALONG, OR YOU CAN STAY BEHIND
OR YOU CAN GET OUT OF THE WAY, BUT OUR TROOPS TAKE OUT THE GARBAGE
FOR THE GOOD OLD U.S.A.

I ROCK, I RACK'EM UP AND I ROLL, IN THE USA
I ROCK, I RACK'EM UP AND I ROLL, I'M TALKIN' ABOUT THE USA

How to Deal with a Snake Like Hussein

"Mr. President, I have signed on as an original co-sponsor of the Iraq resolution, and I'd like to tell you story about why I think it is the right path to take: A few weeks ago, we were doing some work on my back porch back home, tearing out a section of old stacked rocks, when all of a sudden I uncovered a nest of Copperhead snakes.

"Now, I'm not one to get alarmed at snakes. I know they perform some valuable functions, like eating rats. . . . (But a) Copperhead will kill you. It could kill one of my dogs. It could kill one of my grandchildren. It
could kill any one of my four great grandchildren. They play all the time where I found those killers.

"And you know, when I discovered these Copperheads, I didn't call my wife Shirley for advice, like I do on most things. I didn't go before the city council. I didn't yell for help from my neighbors. I just took a hoe and knocked them in the head and killed them. Dead as a doorknob.

"I guess you could call it a unilateral action. Or preemptive. Perhaps if you had been watching me you could have even called it bellicose and reactive. I took their poisonous heads off because they were a threat to me. And they were a threat to my home and my family. They were a threat to all I hold dear. And isn't that what this is all about?"

- Sen. Zell Miller, Georgia Democrat, from the Senate floor on October 3, 2002

Here are the lyrics to Darryl Worley's timely new song:

'Have You Forgotten'

Verse 1
I HEAR PEOPLE SAYING WE DON¹T NEED THIS WAR
I SAY THERE'S SOME THINGS WORTH FIGHTING FOR
WHAT ABOUT OUR FREEDOM AND THIS PIECE OF GROUND
WE DIDN'T GET TO KEEP 'EM BY BACKING DOWN
THEY SAY WE DON'T REALIZE THE MESS WE'RE GETTING IN
BEFORE YOU START YOUR PREACHING LET ME ASK YOU THIS MY FRIEND

Chorus 1
HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN HOW IT FELT THAT DAY
TO SEE YOUR HOMELAND UNDER FIRE
AND HER PEOPLE BLOWN AWAY
HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN WHEN THOSE TOWERS FELL
WE HAD NEIGHBORS STILL INSIDE GOING THRU A LIVING HELL
AND YOU SAY WE SHOULDN¹T WORRY ABOUT BIN LADEN
HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN

Verse 2
THEY TOOK ALL THE FOOTAGE OFF MY T.V. , SAID IT'S TOO DISTURBING FOR YOU AND ME
IT'LL JUST BREED ANGER THAT'S WHAT THE EXPERTS SAY
IF IT WAS UP TO ME I'D SHOW IT EVERYDAY, SOME SAY THIS COUNTRY'S JUST OUT LOOKING FOR A FIGHT
AFTER 9/11 MAN I'D HAVE TO SAY THAT'S RIGHT

REPEAT CHORUS

Bridge
I'VE BEEN THERE WITH THE SOLDIERS , WHO'VE GONE AWAY TO WAR
AND YOU CAN BET THAT THEY REMEMBER , JUST WHAT THEY'RE FIGHTING FOR

Chorus 3
HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN ALL THE PEOPLE KILLED
SOME WENT DOWN LIKE HEROS IN THAT PENNSYLVANIA FIELD
HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN ABOUT OUR PENTAGON
ALL THE LOVED ONES THAT WE LOST AND THOSE LEFT TO CARRY ON
DON'T YOU TELL ME NOT TO WORRY ABOUT BIN LADEN
HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN

Iraqi immigrants gung ho on war

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Steve Miller
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
amsey Jiddou, fresh from a conference in Washington with National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, Vice President Richard B. Cheney and Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld, was back here at home to beat the drums of liberation with his fellow Iraqis.
"Finally, somebody is listening to us," Mr. Jiddou, a chemist who immigrated from his native Baghdad in the late 1970s to escape Saddam Hussein's dictatorial oppression, said.
His sentiments are shared throughout the largest Iraqi community in the United States, in southeast Michigan: Get Saddam out of power and do it now.
"I want peace in Iraq. So if you are for peace, you cannot be for Saddam. It is all about changing the regime," said Ala Faik, a real estate agent in Ann Arbor, 45 miles down Interstate 94 from Detroit. Like almost everyone who has settled here from his homeland, he simply knows that Saddam has to go by any means necessary.
Since a June conference here of various anti-Saddam groups that was attended by low-level State Department members, Iraqi communities in Michigan, California, Illinois and Tennessee have been quietly tapped by the Bush administration for support and advice on the U.S. effort to depose Saddam.
At government expense, these representatives have been brought to Washington to tell Mr. Cheney, Miss Rice and other ranking officials of the pressing need to remove Saddam from power.
The State Department would not comment on its effort to recruit these community members.
"We have actually said this for 35 years," said Mr. Jiddou, 59, as he drove through a large settlement of Chaldeans -- members of Iraq's Christian minority -- in this Detroit suburb, where a retirement home, Chaldean Manor, sits next to a megachurch and the Chaldean Club.
An estimated 120,000 Chaldeans live in and around Detroit, and 60,000 more -- Arabs and Kurds as well as Chaldeans -- came in two waves: one after the rise to power of Saddam in 1979 and another after the 1991 Gulf war and the ensuing failed uprisings.
They danced in the aisles when Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz showed up in Dearborn to address them last month.
"He did not expect that. The people were so glad that he came here to talk to us about ending the regime in Iraq" said Mr. Faik, who is part of a national group of Iraqis, called the Iraqi Forum for Democracy, who advocate the removal of Saddam.

Two weeks ago, a coalition of mostly Detroit area Iraqis, Muslim and Christian, sent a letter to Miss Rice, thanking her for inviting them to the White House and stressing that "those who are marching for 'peace and justice' in the name of the Iraqi people are unwittingly supporting a totalitarian dictator who promotes terrorism."
"These people, these so-called peace people who support human rights, have never been there for the people of Iraq," said Salam Jafar, a 52-year-old physician, who left Iraq in 1980.
He sits in a suburban Ann Arbor kitchen with several other Iraqi Muslims, gulping coffee and talking about siblings, parents and children who were taken in Saddam-ordered campaigns of ethnic cleansing and brutal suppression of uprisings.

All four of the men, in their 40s and 50s, have made the United States home, raising families, paying mortgages and hoping for the end of the Saddam era so relatives in Iraq can be free to visit and vice versa.
Until now, anti-Saddam statements from Iraqis in the U.S. were rare, they all conceded; Saddam has spies among them in Detroit's Middle Eastern community.

"People are now encouraged by this administration, and we are tired of not being able to tell the truth," Dr. Jafar said, risking retribution against family members in Iraq.
"And we got tired of all those stories from Iraq, where the people tell the news people that they don't want war," he added. "Of course they say that. There are [government police] right there next to them. To tell the truth could mean death."

If Saddam is toppled as hoped, there are few Iraqis who would return permanently to their home country, although most would enthusiastically help settle a long-awaited democracy.

"Nobody here would go back, not after all this time," said Ilham Jiddou, wife of Mr. Jiddou, the chemist. "It will take a long time to really establish the country -- too long."

Mainstream Media

Greetings!

I watched the news ABC, NBC and CBS ever since the first bomb landed in Baghdad. I stopped watching the News as of Sunday, because while showing the war they would break for footage on the Anti war protests. The media is leaning in their broadcasting toward antiwar by their subtle comments and their footage of the war. It does come across in the media that America is loosing and is not as strong as we thought we were. I would like to see more footage of the Iraq's dancing in the streets. The media did show some clips, but have not shown any positive clips since Saturday. Rush, I listen to you because you possess arguments about the war with legitimate facts. If I want to know what's going on, I turn you on from 12:00 - 3:00 pm on KNUS Denver. I wish you were on longer. God Bless you with your incredible knowledge on a lot issues. Y ou Make Sense!

Sincerely,

Jacqueline

Are we about to have America's "Waterloo" in Iraq?

People who live only in the U.S. or other civilized countries forget that barbarians do exist and don't play by our rules. I live in the center of the muslim world and have come to understand what most Americans do not.

We set ourselves up in Iraq for defeat by saying we will avoid civilian deaths. Saddam doesn't care; this is a cheaper way to protect an army than with radar or armour. We are stopped dead because there are civilians amongst the targets. It will get worse to where we can't even drive a tank without running over some "innocent" woman or child. Just put them on the roads and we are doomed. We would be forced to abandon our equipment to Saddam and pay ransom to get our soldiers out! And we have camera crews to show all the smashed bodies!

We had better get over expecting them to be accomodating to our self imposed rules. We better start bombing them to submission, win, and get out of there. During WW II one B-17 bombardier was asked how he separated the innocents from the enemy (in S. E. Asia the Japanese were using churches for field HQs and we were bombing them) and the soldier replied, "Lady, I bomb them all and let God separate the good from the bad."

That sounds bad, but anything else won't work. We are enticing all rogues to use human shields, and they will. We will now shoot down a loaded airliner for the greater good... . The same thing must apply here, and immediately.

D. M.

This is a quote from the Democratic Party Platform 2000

Some Republicans believe America should turn away from the world. They oppose using our armed forces as part of international solutions, even when regional conflictsthreaten our interests and our values.

I just e-mailed Tom Sullivan in Sacramento with an idea. After 9/11, most americans hoisted our colors in a sign of support for our country in its time of need. How about lets re-hoist those colors on our houses, cars, buildings, or whatever to show support for our military and for those that have already laid down their lives to protect our freedom. I have absolutely no problem showing our colors alongside the flags of Great Britain and Australia. It has always been these countries that have stepped up to the plate in time of need.

I strongly believe in Boycotting both French and German products. I would not even mind moving the United Nations to some third world country where they would not feel the freedom that our beloved country has given them.

My father was born in Germany, but, since they and the "Flakey French," can't get their minds off of how much money they are losing in illegal sales to Iraq. Screw them!! I am so proud of our President and the people he assembled in putting our current administration together. If Rice decides to run for Governor of California, I will vote for her. She would be a lot better then "Teflon Gray Davis" who can't take the blame for any mistake he makes.

In closing, all I want to say is GOD BLESS AMERICA and to our troops from all military branches, "WE LOVE YOU AND THANK-YOU."

William

Thanks, President Bush!

The Lord says, "What I want is this: Remove the chains of oppression and the yoke of injustice, and let the oppressed go free. Share your food with the hungry and open your homes to the homeless poor. Give clothes to those who have no thing to wear, and do not refuse to help your own relatives.

Then My favor will shine on like the morning sun, and your wounds will b e quickly healed. I will always be with you to save you; My presence w ill protect you on every side. When you pray, I will answer you. ;When you call to Me, I will respond.

If you put an end to oppression, to every gesture of contempt, and to ev ery evil word; if you give food to the hungry and satisfy those who are in n eed, then the darkness around you will turn to the brightness of noon. ;And I will always guide you and satisfy you with good things. I will keep you strong and well. You will be like a garden that has plenty of water, like a spring of water that never goes dry."

Memo to the Troops

"Rest assured that while pretend-patriots talk of supporting you, even as they condemn your noble cause, an unwavering vast majority of Americans share and take pride in your mission. You represent all that is good and right about America and are the true face of American patriotism. You walk in those same righteous footsteps of all those patriots who, before you, fought to preserve liberty for all. Our prayers and our personal gratitude are with you and your families. May God Bless You."
